Would you part with your favorite game in your collection for double its value? I think if I had a decent amount of games, I wouldn't be able to because it would probably be in really great shape and I would enjoy it more than any of the others.

I sold my favorite four years ago, and never found another one.

No, and I wish I had 10 or so of the ones I sold a decade or so ago, back in my collection. Especially the pins.

No, just because I don't have any high value machines. Would I part with several of my machines for a ST:TNG Pin? Hell yes!

Yeah, I wish I had kept every single one I've sold. And I didn't even sell them for that much but at the time, thought they would be too much trouble to move. I think sometimes it seems hard to find any specific game because you never know when one of decent shape is going to come up.

In theory I'd say no, but with the cash waving in front of me I'd be damn tempted to sell. But then it took me years to find it, so probably not... just don't let my wife know the $$$ I'm passing up.

Yep... just did sell one of my "grails" and it wasn't for twice it's worth... it was for about what I paid for it.

Easy come, easy go imho. The wife and kids didn't share my love for the game so we're getting a pinball that everyone will enjoy.

Now I just have to sell one more arcade game and I'll be able to fit said pinball machine down in the basement... ;)

Either the market in my area has dried up, or I'm just not fast enough anymore so, nah, I'd only sell *any* of my games if I simply get in another money pinch. But that's it.

My favorite has had so much money invested in it on sourcing spare parts and in repair and restoration, I'd have to get 3-4x as much to make it even close to worthwhile (and I ain't gonna warranty shit for Joe Bob Craigslistershire so nobody would spend that much). So unless I were totally broke and had already gotten rid of all my other machines? Hell no.

It really depends on where you are financially though. I make a lot more than I have time to spend right now so unless I stood to profit several thousand dollars or something then why bother?

That depends, how much is twice the value of a minty DK? :)

It was my first game and restoration so it would take a lot for me to sell/trade it. The good thing is that it's not rare so if I did let it go, I could find another one eventually. The hardest part would be finding original buttons again in excellent condition.

What pin are you looking for Jeff?

Only if it's common. $250 for my Gunbird PCB? You're on. $1000 for Silvergun? Screw you and the mother that gave birth to you.

You can look at this two ways-

If you know where to find a replacement, then go for it. It would be like passing up profit if you didn't.

If you think it CAN'T be replaced, then you're really asking someone if they like money more than their favorite game.
