So, I have a deal on some games (if I want it) but I am struggling on deciding whether or not it is worth pursuing.

The deal is for 6 games for $330 total.

They are:

Red Clash
Pop Flamer
Zaxxon
Omega Race
Mr. Do's Castle
Unknown Rock Ola game

I have not seen any pictures of any of them as the seller is unable to use a camera apparently  yet he sends his emails from a smart phone. :/ I have only the seller's claim that they are complete and in "okay" condition. He stated, "they have been sitting in my shop for years and are just dusty."

If he was local this would not be an issue but he is 2.5 hours away. So is the above lot worth $330, gas money, $18 for a uhaul trailor, 5-hours of driving, and a sore back?

'Do you want any of those games?' is the bigger question. Personally I would pass because I see no keepers on that list with the possible exception of Omega Race.

IDK Zaxxon Omega race and Mr Do's castle are pretty sought after games IIRC. and even if you don't "want" them could be a flip sale? In any case think of them as all parts, I see Zaxxon boards on ebay selling for 100.00 and up "Working" Mr.. Do boards 50.00 and up, Omega race, well sky is the limit there depending on acid working or not ect...

So say you have 600.00 total, still looks to me that there is some profit to be made, though it may take time, so if you don't have the space ect. I would but ND is a LONG ways to get games to LOL.

I would be interested in seeing the MR Do's Castle. If they all look decent and are working I would say yes go for it. Omega Race is a sought after game and you don't see many MR Do's Castles around.

It's funny-

Somebody brought up 'Red Clash' just the other day on the thread about Twin Galaxies obscure scores. I don't think I've heard of it before.

I'd offer you up something for the Pop Flamer pieces if you'd ship them to me.

Rockola Games are cool. Most of them simply say Rockola on the side art.

Easy call for me: I'd pass.

Pictures would be a must for me to be interested, given the games included.

Personally I'd buy the lot for the pop flamer alone if it were dedicated. It's not a common game and it's one I've had an eye out for. Not sure it really would command the asking price on it's own but I'm sure there is enough there in the other games to make it worth the price.

Hard-balled the guy for some pictures. I guess I'll see if he can provide me some. I mean how can you send a mail from an android phone but not be capable of sending some pictures?

I suggest passing on it as you already have a lot of project games and most of your project games are better titles than that. They would end up being back burner projects for years. Now if they were close by, that would be a little bit different. But with the buying price, uhaul and gas you would be in about $425. Plus a whole day of your time.

That same $425 could probably buy 2 of those titles in gameroom condition.

agreed, ed

I wish that were true in Canada. $425 most times won't even buy you a POS that needs to be restored. I'd pay $425 just for the Mr. Do's Castle.

Nothing really interesting there to me. I have no idea what Red Clash and Pop Flamer are. I am terrible at Zaxxon. Mr. Do's Castle is ok. If the Rockola game happened to be Nibbler, I would go for that.

As you said, if the lot was local to you, the money would be worth the risk. Even if none of them work, you should be able to recoup your money. Though, for the drive time and gas money its a tough call. They could all work and be in great condition or they could all be sawdust.

Well... The exciting conclusion?

I went for it!

Expect another thread with my weekend adventure very very soon. It includes not only this bulk buy but another bulk buy AND a very sad realization that I now have 45 machines so I MUST stop picking up machines until some are gone!

Several of the machines in this bulk buy are on the chopping block!
