Would you buy a game for nostalgia alone?

My games are PRIMARILY for nostalgia. Certain games can NOT be emulated, and MUST be experienced in the original cabinet and with the original control scheme on properly working controls. When i look at a mint original classic, it brings back feelings of my youth. Just trying to REMEMBER the games does not deliver the same feelings...

Not to mention the original electronic hardware (PCB) instead of some multiboard or computer which may or may not produce the correct sounds and responses to controls. Same thing when people try to compare console ports of arcade games to the original. Anything less than the real deal is just not as good. Some people just don't get it. However, there is a legit argument there. "I don't have the room for those giant wooden boxes, so I will play the games on my computer". Sometime you have to settle for less but the original is always best.

I bought a semi-working Operation Wolf a while back in hopes of fixing it. I felt like the replay value wouldn't be great, but it was an old childhood favorite of mine. The nostalgia came flooding back when I heard the intro music and saw the reflection of myself in the glass hunched behind that rattling gun. Even though I was never able to get the gun working right, it was fun turning back the clock to 1987 for a little while.

(I eventually sold it as a non-working game and was much happier having the space in my shed back.)

Games that are leaving (or left) my collection - for the most part, no memories.

Games that must stay - Nostalgia. Those games - SW, Gauntlet, Frontline, CC and a DL on its way.Twilight zone pinball - had deep nostaglia / got one / sold it and miss it. Bringing it back... out of those games, Frontline is the weakest but because of the memories i have its gotta stay.

Games that i didnt have much nostalgia but end up staying cuz they are great - IM, SM pinball and Tempest. Tempest is incredible and holds up really well.

I own a T2 simply bc of the memory of how much that movie meant to me and my cousin when I took him to see it in the theatre. Yes I play it on occasion but the gameplay isn't why I own it.

Kind of.. I would buy a Championship Sprint.. but the game's not bad either. I'n fact.. I still love playing it.

Other would include:

EDOT (Tron movie)
Smash TV (Running man movie)
Alien Vs Predator (A & P movies)
Neo-Geo 4 slot
Star Wars (have :D)
Star Wars Arcade [sega] (SW Movie grail)
