Would you buy a complete working Astron Belt/Galaxy Ranger kit?

Anyone out there have a converted Astron Belt or Galaxy Ranger that would definitely restore if they only had all of the working parts? Since all of my potential buyers have fallen through for my Astron Belt/Galaxy Ranger I have been thinking of parting it with the idea of selling everything to one buyer to restore their converted cabinet. Although I spent a ton of time restoring this cabinet, at least another converted cabinet would be restored (1-1), and I would feel better about it.

I would ask the same amount as I was for the entire game, plus shipping.

Thoughts?

It's a Shame that you have you part it out.
I absolutely agree! My entire motivation for restoring it was to see it live again, then to sell it to recoup my costs. However, nobody seems motivated to either come get it, have it shipped, etc. I am only asking $325.00 the whole game and it Works. It is not perfect, but is original inside.

I figured if someone else has a converted Astron Belt or Galaxy Ranger cabinet, then this would literally be a drop-in solution for them and the same numbers of games would still be out there. Ideally I would like to see them all restored, but that isn't going to happen. :( As for the guts, I was hoping for $300 + shipping which will include the following Astron Belt parts (easily converted to Galaxy Ranger if that is what you want):

- Marquee
- Bezel art (not original, printed on cardboard repro)
- Bezel glass (original I believe, minus artwork and used with above)
- Bezel tint (original and sits behind glass, in front of the monitor)
- Monitor surround (sits behind tint, in front of the monitor)
- CP with all controls and CP wiring
- Laserdisc
- Laserdisc player
- Power harness
- Main game harness
- Demodulator PCB
- Game PCB, includes sound and ROM PCBs
- Switcher (original and specific to AB/GR)
- Laserdisc sound and video cables
- Laserdisc player data cable (new)
- Main tray to house all of the above electronics
- Marquee and speaker wiring
- Fan and cover
- Probably another part or two I am forgetting about....

As for the cabinet, I may give it away, MAME it, or install a multi-kit since I have another populated GR control panel with two extra holes in it (original CPO is still there and decent). I'm thinking of keeping the monitor from the game as well.

scott,

I like galaxy ranger. Gameplay is cool. Please DO NOT part it out. Call me to discuss. I'd hate to see this parted. I''ll pm you my number now. I'll buy it from you

HUH- Nice friend u are kerri369? - called u 3 times today. Cant pick up the damn phone to call me back all day- yet again. From really reliable to Mr. Unreliable

List of excuses yet again--- WTF

yhea thanks for trading my championship sprint for a bunch of useless arcade shit. if i knew you were gonna do that after it sat in my garage for more than six months i would have paid you for the dk cabaret and gave it to someone who really wanted it.

Dude I traded you a cab that was in nice shape and worked. Now your cab--> Broken back door/ peeling art/ non working monitor/ bad powersupply board/ cracked coin door wood. I'd say that I got the worst of the deal. When I traded you x months ago it did work then what happened?
Long story short it is what it is now and its gone. Besides the parts that are listed in the bulk set is not what I received in trade

Dude you are a good guy but lately you seem to not care

You are right- Dude I'll put this post to rest. Dont start with the taking advantage crap. Like I said you are a good guy. I'll leave it at that.

KJoel, per your PM I'll call you later tonight.

I am still open to anyone else interested in the whole entire game so I don't have to part it. Please!

Man, if this was offered after Xmas I'd get it in a flash.

My guess is it will be long gone by then.

Well I'm glad it's going to a good home :)

I for one HATE hearing old cabs being stripped.
OzTron, I completely agree. I am the person that restored the game from just wood, so believe me when I say I wasn't thrilled about the idea. The problem is I couldn't find anyone to buy it. I figured if the parts went into another cabinet then at least there is still one working game out there. However, as KJoel said, he has agreed to buy it and I also have another back-up buyer, so the game will be sold complete. :)
