I have a line on 7 games, free for the hauling they are:

Ninja Gaiden
Bad Dudes
Mario Bros
Sky Shark
1942
Arch Rivals
Pole Position

The only details I got were, "they worked before we moved them to storage." They were at a boys girls club, were probably used a bit and are just taking up space. I am new to this forum and the collecting side of arcade games (I do work for a coin amusement business that has been around for over 40 years so I have easy access to parts) and am looking for some advice. Is this worth someones time to haul these off (I do have storage space available) and shop these out? Or more importantly, since I do not really care to collect these games, will someone pay for them?

Thanks for any help.

Let's see.

(Writing down on paper...)

Your initial investment is...

$0. (Plus or minus storage fees)

People want parts, people will pay for parts.

Textbook win-win. ;) Best ROI ever. Yes, people will pay for them, either whole or parts. This forum is a great resource for selling, pricing, etc.

What will happen to the games if you don't take them? Will they be destroyed? Then you must save them! :D Wish I lived in Iowa!

I'd jump on it in a heartbeat. Oh wait I am out of storage room. Ah Public Storage, first month for 1 penny.

Hm.. I don't think it's a very good deal at all.. I think you should give the location and information to me so I can deal with this for you. I don't think you want to be bothered by this terrible deal. :)

Let's see first post by this user and this is the post? Might as well thrown in a Ms Pac, Dragons Lair, Cockpit Star Wars and HUO Robotron.

Must be April 1st

Lol.. I know the ROI on anything "free" is terrible... ;)

All I meant was, I don't think many of these games garner any real interest ( I dont see many Bad Dudes listed among collections) and it may take quite a bit of time to shop them out. These games are not what I want in my personal collection, so my time may not be worth the money. I guess once I get them I could sell them As-Is, or god forbid they are working!

you are actually asking this? i would definitely get it. mario bros. is an awesome game. expect the pole position to potentially need a bit of work to get it running, and the others are mostly all jamma games (they all use the same setup), so even if they don't work you could sell the cabs with the wiring and make some money off them. i'd definitely do it.

Since everyone is going to say..."Go for it", I'll play devil's advocate....

01) You have no interset in the games (from a collecting standpoint).
02) You have no high end games on the list (Mario Bros probably being the best).
03) It's fair to say, being from a boys/girls center, they'll be somewhat "used".
04) Assume 50%-65% won't work....and 100% will need some work to make them sellable (I'm talking about home market...you could always sell them "as-is" to collectors.
05)Eighty percent of those are probably conversions...
06) Depending on how beat up they are....and once they're cleaned up and working....you're looking at $500-$1200. How much money and time you spend on them will be dircctly related to this price. Not too mention, how beat up they are to begin with...you can only polish a trud so much.
07) Lastly, is it worth your time. This is the most important one....and actually takes some thought to figure out.

Good luck,
Edward

If you really don't want to deal with the hassle let me know where in IA you are and I will come down to take a couple of the cabs off of your hands. I am 100% broke right now but would find the gas money to make the trip. :)

I would get them... Even if most of them are Jamma conversion garbage, just 48-in-1 those and no one will care. Better to do it to those than real classics... If something like the Mario Bros is complete and original, you can find someone here to take it off your hands without shopping it out.

Leave them for someone who would appreciate them. You don't deserve them.
