So I was playing Tales of The Arabian Nights tonight.

I usually have respectable games on this machine. Until tonight :)

Here was the FINAL score, 3 ball game, and YES, I TRIED to score points!

Pathetic!!!!!

What bad games have you had?

Ouch! lol. If I score that poorly on the first ball I usually hit the start button again to start a new game. I just couldnt let it go that far.

Interesting - I always play it out. Some of my better games have been when I completely flubbed the first ball. Even when I continue to suck I usually find it's a worthwhile bit of practice.

Pinbot for sure. Every single ball in a game going off the plunger and draining immediately without being able to get a flipper on it. Was always trying to get a good score, just as with any pinball table, but that one really likes to drain. One of the reasons I hated it in the arcades.

The local bowling alley probably hates me. One day I play a pin there all day on a few quarters keeping other people from pouring their money into it, the next I suck really bad. And when I suck really bad i tilt that SOB out of frustration and they give me a dirty look.

You can almost get a zero in Pin*Bot - if I had to put a quarter in it I'd hate it - that is a great pin but only if you don't have to lose money to it just for that reason alone.

Worst score I ever got in a paid game? On my honeymoon the wife and I hit the kid's arcade in a casino and I saw a real Cirqus Voltaire for the first time and really wanted to play it. I put in 2 tokens and let my lovely bride take the first turn. She promptly got the ball stuck. The machine went into ball find mode and never came out. So technically you could say, that not even getting to launch the ball on a paid, working game, would be my worst score ever.

That's another thing you only get from ignorant people. Tilting is built into the machine - it's part of the game.:D

I scored 630,xxx in a tournament once on Medieval Madness and got beat on that game by my opponents score of 670,xxx. It was crazy. Game was freshly waxed and cleaned for the tournament and the ball just drained. I can score hundreds of millions on this game, but for some reason, me and him couldn't break a mil during this game. It was all good though as it was best 2 out of 3 and I killed him on the other games. :)

I've had that happen.. But if you restart, your flubbed ball is gone and you have 3 hopefully good ones to work with.

I'd just rather start off with a good ball is all :)

I got something like 300 points on my Mata Hari one time. I didn't have it quite level and the ball would just hit the left bumper just enough to kick it into an arc right between the flippers. I was shocked when it did it the first time and I had to pick my jaw off the floor when it did it two more times in a row. That's when I got out my level and found out that it had a slight tilt to the left. The carpet had crushed down a little more on the left side and caused it to lean. Aaaarrrghggghggg! I shimmed it up with a small circular piece of cardboard and it went back to playing right.

The bumpers score 100 points, IIRC, and the "try again" balls only kick out when no points are scored, so it was 3 bumps and out.

I watch the level now and have also kicked it up to 5 balls per play. It's the same price (free), so why not?
