Worst pickup ever.

Hey John, I'm in NW Ohio over by Toledo. You're south of CLE aren't you? I would pay you good to ship it!! :) That's awesome. Thank you, Thank you!!

JJ - I did lose it, then the seller didn't want to ship the parts to the winning bidder, winning bidder is a member here, contacted me and said I could have it if I wanted, worked a deal with the seller. I posted how stoked I was in the i hate losing thread. LOL It's been a week of me being a crybaby about stuff.

Oh update: both games were bought non-working, the dkjr board has issues, I have a DKjr. board I put in there. The Ghosts N' Goblins had a bad monitor. At some point a mouse had gotten in there - I just swapped the monitors. It works fine.

Awesome!!! I am glad everything worked out. Who got the Space Invaders DLX ? Did he have any others for sale?

Yeah, it worked out really well!

I got it home late last night. The bottom of the cab has some water damage, and it's heavy as hell. Opened up the back and found that some mice had been living in it. I was kind of grossed out by it, but didn't find any leftover bodies. I'm debating what to do with the cabinet itself. I can't believe I found a dedicated at this price, but I hate water damage and thick particle board cabinets. I'm going to have to figure out how to fix it. I wish this were plywood! :) I swapped the monitors and it fired up like a champ, I have to find out if there's a dip switch setting to flip the picture because it's upside down on my heavy barrel monitor.

The DKjr - lost the bezel - the speaker hums really really loud and the boards have issues, I plugged in my other dk jr. set and it worked great. The monitor itself is gorgeous. I just have to figure out the massive hum.

I didn't even ask about the Space Invaders, it was sitting there. The cabinet looked pretty nice for it's age.

He didn't have any other coin-op stuff. He specializes in vacuum tubes and vintage radio stuff, and this stuff had come up at a random auction he was at. A really stand-up guy, he was offering me beers and showing me all of his vintage radio stuff.

Very common problem on Nintendo games. The audio amplifier is a small board that's part of the monitor. The caps in it's power supply dry out and cause that hum. Recap that little sound board and you should be good to go.

Man, I was about to ask if it was caps or a ground issue. Thanks Ian! I'll probably be ordering some cap kits this weekend. That's one thing I'm confident with is re-capping stuff - anything else I get nervous. LOL
