Worst game you ever bought, gameplay wise?

I don't even have to think about this one.

Blueprint!

I've probably had close to 100 machines and I've owned some real clunkers gameplay-wise like Astron Belt, M.A.C.H. 3, Kangaroo, Bagman, Congo Bongo and Arabian. Blueprint easily takes the cake.

Cisco Heat.. It was pretty bad.. Cab looked cool but that was about it. Thankfully it was ony $50.00 bucks.

Agreed. This would be my #1 worst game also. I bought mine for $100 because I remembered loving it when I was 13. I traded it to a guy for 2 cabs he wanted to get rid of after only like 3 months.

I really don't get the hype of Dig-Dug.

But as far as games that don't live up to their nostalgia, DOUBLE DRAGON.
I can't believe that I used to steal money from my parents, sneak out of the babysitter's house and catch beatings to play this game.

Mine had to be Gondomania, boring graphics, boring sound effects, boring gameplay, boring bad guys, boring bosses.. etc etc. Paid only $60 for it but couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Shootout ranks pretty high on the suck scale too, although fortunately I only bought the PCB for like $10.

centuri the pit.. Saw it in the doa row at super auctions back in the mid 90's. Never saw it before and it look really nice (nice art, time pilot style cab).

Bought it, fixed it and its a real pile... I was very happy when it sold at CAX..

I actually like its gameplay but it would help if it had MORE THAN ONE F'N LEVEL! You get sick of it after just a couple of games, what the hell were they thinking when they put it out? Even a handful of levels would have improved it a lot!

Sega Turbo

Bite your tongue damn you! I'm almost done restoring mine! lol

I didn't buy it, but the worst game I ever played is probably Mystic Marathon.

you did not buy it, so that does not count.. :) I have owned a dedicated as well as a kit into stargate and kit into a joust. I still have a boardset and someday would like to make it work in a jamma cabinet..

Mystic marathon not the worst game by any strech. If you just wanted to go with williams games, try motorace usa..

If you wanted to worst game ever, I bet you could find hundreds of games.. What comes to mind is vectorbeam barrier..

The thing with Turbo now (other than the fact that I can barely go 50 yards without hitting another car) is the jarring scenario/level change. Keeping its age in mind, I still think its a cool game.

I can definitely agree with Kung Fu Master. I never found that game to be much fun. Also, as painful as it is to admit, Star Castle didn't hold up too well. I don't think I'd actually go as far as saying it sucks, but it actually feels a bit tedious to play now.

I've never really bought in quantity enough to have a game I dislike thrown in. I've mostly chosen my games one at a time, looking for what I like.

I really don't get the hype of Dig-Dug. ...

Selling point for me was/is that I can play it for quite a while on one quarter...

That used to be my focus, but now that I'm collecting these things, it obviously holds a lot less value. :D I think that's why I liked Kangaroo at one point... Could play it for like, 10 minutes.

My worst game ever bought, was the first game I ever bought. I saw a Battle Shark for 200 and bought it... It got me started, but the game pretty much sucks. Not the worst I ever played, but not the "classic" game I really wanted. It was sold for 200, gladly.

I once got a Super Volleyball in a package deal so I could get a Tron for $99. I played the Volleyball ONCE and sold it. Had no redeeming value to me at all. Plus it was in a Robotron cabinet, and that made me mad.

twin eagle is pretty awful. I made an error in judgment and traded my 1943 for that crap.

I got a Twin Eagle in a Zaxxon cab. It must've been in a bar or something. It just smelled like cigarettes, beer and cheap perfume.

It was fantastic. If I was single, my entire house would smell like that, but alas it had to live in the garage. My memories of the game might be affected by the greatness of its stench.

I will probably get crucified for this but mine would be Punch Out. I remember playing it when I was younger and liking it but now it does nothing for me....thought I would like it and add it to the Nintendo row but decided to let it go this past week...

I agree. Had one..restored it...played it...sold it.

And I would add War Gods to the list.

Road Riot 4WD 2 player sitdown. The gameplay gets old very fast. The knocker in the seat is pretty cool thought. Startled the heck out of me the first time it went off.

Yeah, that's always been the selling point for pinball in teh wild. More play time for your money.

I didn't come of age during the first wave of arcade machines, but more the JAMMA wave. Beatem Ups, Platformers, Fighters Shooters.

Anyways, I always kind of liked DiG Dug until I started playing Mr. Do. Now, I see the inadequacies of Dig Dug.

Of coures, I thought that Mr. Do! was kind of stupid until somebody showed me the mechanics of better gameplay.

Tough call...

I'm going to have to go with Golden Tee. I bought it for the monitor, but it counts since I did buy it.

Right behind that is Route 16.
