I'd have to say a couple years ago I was picking up two machines that I bought on eBay.

1 of them was a Joust. A lotta people on here praise Joust and I got a good deal on it at the time. Well the machine had some rom errors and (lucky for me was my out). When the seller finally got it to work after the 10th try I looked at it like "WTF is this crap". I donno couldnt get the hang of it or EVER see myself playing it. Thankful it had that error or I woulda been stuck with a 400 lb piece of MEH.

Anyone else buy something they heard was good or the price was right only to find out later what an utter piece of GARBAGE it was.

Now Im sure some will say I LOVE JOUST. But Im not one of them.

my one mistake is ring king. The games sucks terribly IMO. One popped up relatively cheap and a good friend of mine had been talking it up about how he loved it and wanted to play it again. I bought it figuring he would buy it off me or at least play it when he dropped by. I don't think he's ever played the thing since I bought it. Probably wouldn't take it from me either if I offered it to him for free. So I kind of got screwed on that one. Still having a hell of a time getting rid of the darn thing. Seems no one is in a hurry to grab a ring king.

You are SO wrong about Joust...

But to answer your question... Out of my 8 games... Vs. Excitebike and Space Invaders, in that order.

Would I get rid of either? Probably not, unless a Space Wars pops up locally. Those 2 would be first up on the chopping block.

I used to LOVE Excitebike. Now, after playing it for a while, its replay value drops quickly... :(

Joust is fun as hell, though.

I agree with you, Joust is horrible.

The worst game ive bought so far is xenophobe. It was a really cool cab, but the game didnt do it for me. Wasnt horrible though.

centuri the pit.. Saw it in the doa row at super auctions back in the mid 90's. Never saw it before and it look really nice (nice art, time pilot style cab).

Bought it, fixed it and its a real pile... I was very happy when it sold at CAX..

I got a Wizard of Wor cabaret that had been converted into an Atomic Boy. I tried to play the game once I got it to power up and the monitor working and realized why I had never heard of it before. It was full of suck.

Thankfully, I've got it converted back to a WoW. I don't see how anyone could think that it was a good idea to change it from WoW to Atomic Boy.

Fast Freddie....shit game. Great cabinet artwork, crap game

I like FF some.

The worst game ever made is bottom of the 9th. fortunately I bought it because it was a cherry hyper sports cab (which I am just about done restoring)

PM sent....j/k. Actually I kinda like Ring King although the game puts you at a severe disadvantage as the computer has waaaay more speed than you.If I was near you I actually would take it off your hands though.

Xenophobe is just meh....Joust on the other hand is a cool game,it's just not for some.

I've played way worse than Atomic Boy,but with that said the game isn't that bad....but it's not that good either.

The only game I've gotten that I could have done without is Time Pilot '84.The game isn't the worst game ever, but it can't hold a candle to Time Pilot. All the levels look the same, most of the enemies look similiar, and the bosses look exactly the same. The game gets very monotonous very quickly.

I have only bought 9 or 10 games so far and have only sold 2 (Defender, Star Castle) so far.
Defender is a great game, hard but great and I maybe will own another someday...
Have to say Star Castle didn't really do it for me and I really love vector games....
Not a Joust fan here either......:)

Worst Game

The worst game I bought was Shinobi for $60. It was in a waterlogged dedicated Major Havoc cabinet. I didn't recognize the cabinet til much later...thought it looked cool; however. Fortunately, I still have the cabinet (redone); but Shinobi is out.

Joust

I remember playing joust as a kid in the arcade. I didn't spend much time playing that game because there were other games that I enjoyed playing more. One cool thing I can remember about Joust was it had some great sounds. I remember what the respawn sounded like and the sound of me dying.....hmm maybe I played it more than I thought.

I bought a Golden Axe in a Galaxian cab, never played the game. Not a fan of the side scrolling fighter games. Let the boys at work play it before I stripped it.
