Worst Arcade Week Evar

#1 - Fuck Capn Crunch. He ain't got shit on my boy yo! http://www.quakeroats.com/products/more-products-from-quaker/content/cereals/quisp.aspxhere

#2 - losing yet another game room. Time to file for visitation of your balls.
I heard male judges are more lenient to this than female judges.

#3 - K6100 - be thankful you didn't have a full on spot killer ending in a phosphur burn the size of your anus.

#4 - Q bert and that god awful pole position. Those games are satans asshole. They were backwards engineered to stay off longer than on.

#5 - forget all the bullshit and go have your self a tasty bowl of Quisp. Afterwards emailing me PROFUSELY thanking me for bringing such splendor to your belly.

Time to end this madness and rid yourself of these arcades and buy some pins. Just sayin .... ;)

Tempest started playing blind, which I know is a fairly common thing for 6100 but still...it's my first major arcade problem so far. Also, BurgerTime's ROM errors never cease, no matter how many times they're resat; the sockets, maybe?

Thats ok I just visited my rented garage and cant open the door due to an inch and a half of water against it (and over the threshhold). I could only see a sliver of floor through the window and it looked dry, but heres to hoping.

All the games are on dollies...except for my Tempest :-(

Friggin rain!!!!

Love that cereal too, even though it cuts the roof of my mouth.

BEGS TO DIFFER!!!!!!

this is what happens when you have a lot of stuff. the more stuff the more that will go wrong with it. i think a week never goes by where something I have does not stop working/need replacement/repair. I know it's annoying but just remember you have tons of other crap to play with and try not to focus on the stuff that's not working, it detracts from enjoying the rest of it.
This.

I have 36 machines and a lot of times I've felt overwhelmed thinking about what next to work on. Granted not all of them need major repair, but the little things do add up. I have thought about really thinning down my collection this year, but then I can't even bring myself to get rid of a freakin' Blasteroids that I got for $50!

Woohoo - visited garage on my way to work and no water got in. I don't know how, but Tempest is safe!

Woah... now that's some good weather seal on that door there! :)

Oh, and Phet... you should try keeping Omega Race, Battlezone, Red Baron, and Star Trek going... ugh! Seems like there is always at least one of those down here.

Yeah I did some craziness to it...I wrapped and tacked a foam pipe insulator to the bottom of the door, and on the right corner where the door is in bad shape, I actually took some plastic bags, put some old foam rubber in them ,and then stuffed them into the crevice where the door meets the ground, and damn if it doesn't work pretty good all things considered!

-Lost sound in my Q-bert, again, but this time restarting it doesn't get it back like it used to. No sound, not even stuttering or I'm Turned on. Fuck. Qbert is no fun to play in silence.

Fixed. Replaced the chip at U16, reseated the multikit. Sound now seems OK.

-got a replacement hard drive for my megatouch that hasn't worked right for over a year. The replacement drive worked great for 2 days, then started locking up and resetting, just like my old one. Kids got sad. 2nd replacement arrived yesterday, no time to install it.

KINDA Fixed. Replaced the hardrive, still ends up freezing after about an hour. Next is to replace the caps on the power board.

-Tried to get a new DK Cocktail instruction card printed, but found out that the vector file on Localarcade was never completed and has unfinished portions everywhere. No time to clean it up, so that ends that idea.

Mike's arcade has the finished PDF. Back on track. Thanks anonymous KLOVer.

phet, hang in there brother. Believe me i can vouch for many of those weeks arcade related or not.

Your initials are sex? dude that right there should cheer you up like a mofo.

Heres to hoping you dont lose your arcade. My deal with the mrs when we bought this place was half the basement is mine no matter what as the garage.

I know exactly how you feel. I've been there for a couple of months now. There are times where I seriously consider selling all my games and giving the hobby up. Here's my list:

Donkey Kong--Not all the sounds are working.
DK Jr.--Same problem
Defender. Twice had the monitor looked at and fixed on the bench, only to have it not work correctly at home.
Dig Dug--Same deal
Altered Beast--Monitor problem and switch grounding problem
Indiana Jones--Down
Road Blasters--Down
Spy Hunter--Flyback getting ready to go
Asteroids--Worked geat until I installed the hi-score save now it's effing up.

The worst is when you try to fix something and make it worse. That's (to me) the most demoralizing part. Unfortunately, that's where I'm at now. Misery loves company, I suppose but I'd love it more if my FRIGGIN' GAMES WORKED. :)
