On my Last Action Hero there are some letters, etc. worn off the playfield. In the pic, you can see on the right that the "CAT" decal is missing the "AT", the "SAVE DANNY" decal is completely gone - should be in that blank red square to the right of the "CAT". And on the left, the "MB" decal is pretty worn. There is more, but those spots are the biggest probs

Is there anything one can do to fix this?

Not quite SOL...

You have a couple of choices :

You can try and re-paint the lettering by hand, and then cover it with mylar.
You can have someone more talented paint it and then cover it with mylar.
You can try to find dry-transfer lettering or decals that have the font, then cover it with mylar.
Or, you can replace the playfield, or the game with one in better condition.

Not too many choices.

Oooph, that game's lived hard! Looks like lots of insert hazing.

Here's what I'd recommend if you wanna get it looking nicer again.

-Level the playfield, and put down a few layers of Minwax Polycrylic in the insert "holes"
-If you can paint - paint in the touchup letters/artwork
-Add a few more layers of the polycrylic until the damaged/touched up "holes" are level ...you might need to do a little wet sanding w/ 600 sandpaper...and buff it out w/ some Novus 2.
-Put some mylar rectangles on the kickout paths

If you don't have new balls in your game...get 'em! Old balls will just keep ripping up the playfield.

Thanks for those tips as well. Will a dry transfer work over the polycrylic? I can't paint letters very accurately..

I polished the balls, there are 6, when I brought it home, but will replace them now as it is hard to tell how long they have been in there. I also have the proper black rubber set coming from Marco Specialties, because the pink rubber on the flippers is just wrong and the post rubber on some of the posts did not get changed to white (which is the color of most the rest of it, presumably when it was shopped back in April). so I am doing the full meal deal rubber swap.

It's a challenging game.; for me anyway..
