OK... now that my Flash is up and running again 100%, I would like to address the final issue. The playfield is in decent shape (no wear spots to speak of except for a 2 inch "scrape" in the upper left shute where the ball enters the playfield after the slingshot across the field.) The only thing that I really want to address are the inserts. They all "look" great..none of the original art (lettering) is worn off. My problem is that over time, they now have a concave nature to them (which does add some degree of "uncertainty and challenge" while playing the game...especially the exit lanes where a slow ball might catch the rounded edge of one and swing it back into play.
Is there a recommendation to possibly "fill" the depressions made by the aging inserts with something or is this something only a clearcoat will fix? (dont really want to clearcoat this playfield...eventhough the art isnt worn, you can see wood stress) .. just looking to get the play as close to original as possible. Or... can inserts be replaced without clearcoating a playfield?
Thanks
