Hey Guys-

I'm looking for a bit of input on these 2 games. The seller says that the World Series has a blue checkered screen when powered up and the Ikari III works fine. These are the best pics he could give me. Doesn't it look like the WS has a Merit logo CPO? Anyway, he's looking to get $100 each. It's real close to me... any thoughts??

I'd try to pay a little less for both together...
That World Series is in a Williams cab, Joust, Robotron, etc. style... it would make a sweet Multi-williams.
That Ikari III is in a universal type cab, I can't remember the company name but it was made for universal kits in the late 80's (not a dynamo cab).
The monitors are worth $50 each I would think if they both work and look descent...
But other than that neither of them are in an original cabinet and neither of those games are sought after, rare, or worth much money on the open market.

If I were heading out to think about buying those I'd be thinking parts, parts, parts, since neither of them is really a woo-hoo!!! type find.

I have a world series kit I pulled from a Taito cab I got a few months back. The game is OK at best. - Barry

I have World Series the Season. Honestly it's one of my favorite games. I think the pull levers give a real neat and different feel than other joystick games. They seem to sell for $100-$250 depending on condition of course. Not to sure about Ikari III.

I own an Ikari III (only because I have an Ikari and all parts to build a Victory road). It's an awful game that no one plays. It doesn't play like it's predecessors really. If you were to buy this I would only do so as a parts game. The only thing on the game that might fetch a few dollars if you parted it would be the rotary joysticks. Basically you are buying a monitor, cab, joysticks and PS. Not likely anyone will want the board, marquee, bezel ect.

Personally I would pass on both of these. Unless you really need a monitor. Then I'd offer the guy $50 for the one with the working monitor.

maybe buy?

The Ikre III You should get this and flip the monitor put some kind of shooter game in it like Raiden or something like that in it.

I'm sure changing the control panel would be that hard

My thought was that the Ikari III is in the same type of cab the original Ikari Warriors came in. I LOVED that game BITD and thought coverting it to an original Ikari would be pretty sweet. Oh well, I'll go look at them and see if $50 is worth it to him. Thanks Guys!

First, let me say that the baseball game does nothing for me. Don't like it, wouldn't want it, set that one back and walk away. Now as for the the Ikari III, I would definitely say pick that one up. I have one of these cabs and I am relatively sure its a Dynamo HS-5 or HS-9. Mine was a dedicated Shadow Dancer. Usually comes with a WG-K7000 25" monitor. They also use a slide out tray that makes swapping boards a breeze. I will say that depending on the frame of the monitor, whether its wide with a sheet of plywood that the chasis is bolted to or whether its the narrow style that tapers in the back, it may be difficult to change this to a vertical cab. Also, the cab may have a problem with the top portion separating as they are put together via dowels. I know mine was. But in general, its a heck of a cab and a lot of reasonable games use those LS-30 rotary buttons. I think I own 5 HS-5 cabs and its just a good cab that is very versatile. Probably, the best jamma cab ever. But hey, that's just my 2 bits.

I can't speak for the Ikari, but I love my WS: TS. My brother & I have a blast w/ it whenever he's over.

Well, I ended up getting these for $75 total.

The Dynamo cab is rough but the monitor is crystal clear. The World Series doesn't play but I am getting jibberish on the screen. Haven't had a chance to mess around with them yet but when I get a chance, I'm sure I'll be back with tech questions! My current plan is to focus on the World Series since it's in a Joust cab (cab is in good shape) and probably make it a multi williams.
