I keep loosing the lights on the left side of my playfield. The whole entire group will go out at a time. I just checked all the fuses and they are good. Then I checked the connector for the board for the wire that handles the playfield lights. It is pretty warm and as you can see in the pic its burned up. I removed the wire and cleaned it up and put it back in and it has been working better. My concern though is this a fire hazzard? What could be causing that to get so warm? All the bulbs are new and the right model.

Any ideas?

Replace it w/ a new molex connector. They get hot because the IDC connectors are cheap and can't handle the constant current they had running through them. That's what Shaggy says, anyway.

I figured it was not a huge deal, it seemed pretty old and crumbly. I cleaned up the burnt rubber off the wire and the lights are working much better now.

If you only cleaned it, you will be fixing it very soon. That's very common in pinball, and you better learn to fix it correctly. It's easy to fix. Just stock up on the trifruicon pins and connectors. It's gonna happen no matter how much care you take of your machines.

seconded. Use Trifurcon pins when you rebuild it. It annoys me that many of these connectors used the basic edge connector pins. That is not good enough long term for the main power wires.

Steve at PB resource has the .156 molex crimper for like $20. That is half price or better than you can get it anywhere else.
