I live in a condo, and I rarely use it. My gf thinks it should go and I have to admit, given the amount of space I have vs how much it is used, she's right.

It has Super Mario Bros on one side and RBI Baseball on the other. One side needs a cap kit (I think). Sometimes the game displays, and sometimes it doesn't. Outside of machine is in decent shape. Could probably use some touchups but no major damage.

I'd like to get it to a good home ahead of squeezing every last dollar out of someone, but I don't know where to begin in terms of pricing. I can get pics up this weekend if anyone wants to see.

TIA

Do you think you would use it more if you got more games for it? Maybe lack of variety when you can have different choices makes it sit. Once you get rid of it, you may have to pay more to get one if you decide it was a mistake.
The one monitor may lower the value a bit, but it's probably a cold solder joint problem. It's still probably in the $2k range if it is in the shape you say.
Prices for them seem to vary on location and on if someone locally wants one. For sale prices lately have been in the 1500-3000 range.

It's certainly possible, but I don't know if it is likely. Most of my friends don't have interest in vintage games, and the ones that do would rather play NES. I always wanted to have it set up for four player Vs. Tennis but I think finding three people who'd play it with me is little more than a pipe dream, sadly.

Never do anything your woman recommends, even if you know she's right. Keep it forever out of spite. When she divorces/leaves you, sell it then and invest the money in expensive bourbon. Next time you bump into her, slip in the fact that it's gone, and act like you never cared about it at all. Then ask her if she wants to be friends with benefits.

Yea I do have to say, Ive had my tent for over a decade and I think we have played 4 player tennis a handful of times. Just think it over before selling it, and if ultimately you decide it does nothing for you, then free up the space and sell it.

OK so it took me a while but I took some photos. There are some things in life I thought I would/could be that I never actually wound up doing. "Guy who collects and is able to do simple fixes on arcade games" is one of them. So I would like to sell the Red Tent. It is on the NW side of Chicago, within a few minutes of 90/94. It's in a condo that I am about to put on the market, so if anyone wants to buy a 2 bed/1 bath condo in Chicago, I'll give you the Red Tent for free if you buy the condo.

Some notes - the RBI side had some purplish/blue artifacts when it first turned on, but by the time I took photos, it looked like it was completely off. The SMB side had some hold issues (or so it looked) for the first few seconds, which I am guessing means there is some adjustment to the vertical or horizontal hold needed. I got ready to fidget with them, but the screen stopped moving and worked fine by then, as seen in the pictures...so I just left it alone.

A little history of the machine - A friend of mine bought it circa 25 years ago. He and his buddies played the RBI side quite a bit for a few years. The other side (which was Castlevania at the time) was not even connected and I distinctly remember the game tucked into a closet where only the RBI side was accessible. I think it may have been disconnected entirely as the attract mode noise from Castlevania irritated them while playing RBI. Then most of them got married and it was forgotten in his basement for a long time. I got it from him about ten years ago. Shortly after getting it, I swapped Castlevania for SMB with a guy who lived somewhere in the south or southwest Chicago suburbs that I met off the old VS System Forums that seem to be dead now. The forums that is...not the guy. I hope he is alive and well. In that ten years, it has probably been played about 15 times and turned on less than 30 times total.

If anyone wants more pictures, please let me know and I will get more. Once I get a better grasp on pricing, I will post it for sale.

Sweet! My sister-in-law is already buying a place in Southport, otherwise I'd trick her into buying your condo so I could swoop in and take the red tent from her as a "favor," to "get it out of her way." Then I'd put it next to the one I already have, because if there's anything better than two drunk dudes playing RBI elbow to elbow, it's four drunk dudes playing RBI elbow to elbow to elbow.
