FINALLY! Found one in fairly good condition at a reasonable price. Needs a little love, but not bad, overall. I'll be replacing the white t-molding with black. I'm also going try to remove those baseboard things without ruining the paint. Any suggestions?

Question:
Is there a special switching power supply needed for Robotron? This one has a standard switcher, but I read where you needed -12v for the sound board. Putting -5v to the sound board will eventually burn it up, he said. (I'll eventually rebuild the original power supply. It's still in there.)

Thanks for your input! I'm excited!!!

Great looking cabinet. A little funky with the white T-molding and baseboard thingies. Nice machine!

Congratulations on an awesome pick up.
You might want to be extra careful if your going to take the base boards off. Those are industrial for offices and what not and are usually applied with a heavy adhesive glue. You don't want to take a bunch of wood with it when you remove them.

Yeah. I'm going to try to peel back a corner to see what's under it. I may try a heat gun to soften the glue. If it becomes too troublesome, I'll just leave them on.

Regardless, still an awesome pickup, congrats.

No special power supply is needed for Robotron. The linear supply outputs +12 -5 and +5 like a switcher. The difference is the large cap which it uses to power down and save the high score and settings. I rebuild the linear supply. For home use it will last just about your lifetime.

Thanks. I'm ordering the parts and going to try it myself. The rectifier is melted.
