Woo-hoo - Successful arcade party and all my machines lived!

We just got done sending the last of our college friends and their families home after our 19th Fourth of July party. I had all of the arcade games fixed prior to the party and it was great seeing the kids having so much fun playing the games.

The best part is they all survived like champs (the games and the kids). The Star Wars cockpit always had one (sometimes two) kid(s) in it. Warlords also got a lot of play (no betting for the kiddies :)). Anyway, I just wanted to share the great time had by all w/o the need for the arcade tech to show up and make a quick on-the-spot repair....

Awesome! But don't say it too loudly or one of the games will break just to spite you!

Congrats! Our party is today. We'll see how it goes.

Originally, I thought the games would not get much play, but it's supposed to rain, so I am hoping everything can hold up

I fully expect that Hyperball will fail at some point. That's just what it does. The videos are pretty stable at this point, but you never know :) The pins are always a crap shoot, but I think they will be okay.

Will report back audits and such tomorrow if I remember to clear them all.

We are currently half way through our family reunion for the year. We have a 4 day 3 night sort of "festival" for the family in which 20 people come, a lot of them children, and they always look forward to playing in the arcade. I try to get everything fixed up but like clockwork something will always go down prior to it, usually without enough time for me to do anything about it. This year both my sport station and my mame cabinet started acting up not two days before. The sport station needs a new power supply which I'm starting to feel I should keep a stock of and the mame's hard drive failed. Thankfully I ordered a new hard drive with an increased amount of games from paradise arcade and it arrived yesterday only one day in to the event so it's now back up and running with some fun new additions like street fighter iii.

Last year the sport station hard drive failed right beforehand and The daytona USA monitor failed on 1p. The year before that the DDR monitor broke the first day of the event. Ther is always something to do when you have arcade machines. :)

pics or it never happened. :D

It didn't happen then...maybe that explains why they are still working...it was only a dream. Actually, I barely got any pictures at our party....that is something we always fail to do when hosting. And then at the end of the party, we realize another went by without pics. :(
