Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forums but thought this might be the best area since its for selling. Im wondering what shipping companies are the best to use. That take care of the arcade and arent to expensive at the same time. Would love some feedback for those that have shipped or have gotten arcades shipped to them. Thanks guys

Same here for NAVL. They've delivered seven of my games with no problems.

Used Forward Air once and no problems there either, but they don't do home delivery. They just go terminal to terminal and you have to pick it up. But you can't beat their speed since they fly rather than drive. They got a game from St. Louis to Seattle in 2 days for me, and that was only because it was over a Sunday.

Stay away from R+L. They went to deliver a centipede game and didn't secure it. They went around a corner and the game fell over smashing into a transmission. The cabinet was destroyed.

I used NAVL several times with very good results. On the same note, I used Forward Air, which is a third the price, with very good results as well - but they don't provide the same "white glove" service.

NAVL is obviously a good recommendation, but have you heard of UShip.com? It's sort of like a reverse eBay, but for shipping only.

Basically what you do is set up an account (free) and post an 'auction' stating you need a Ms. Pac-Man shipped from Orlando Florida to Omaha Nebraska. You take some pictures of your cab, post some decent measurements and weight, and then companies bid for your business. You'll be hit by big companies at first, so you'll get offers for $700, etc. But then you'll get small trucking companies bidding. I was able to ship a Sega Megalo410 from Austin TX to Atlanta GA for a little over $210.

There is even feedback on the shippers, posted by the sellers. So, sure you have to worry about the guy that's got -50 feedback, but that goes with any type of auction house.

The only other draw back is that lets say you get an incredible price like $50 to ship it with insurance, wrapping, pickup at your place, signatures, etc, all that good stuff. Sometimes, even with that, the shipping TIME will vary - of course this varies by trucking company. Some shippers will respond and say that they can pick it up on a certain date, and then have it delivered in 3 weeks, or whatever.

Those are worst case scenarios, of course but I had a good experience with UShip, so I figured I'd toss that into the mix.

Yeah UShip is a bit of a crap shoot, some folks have had major issues, some have had nothing but great experiences. I've used NAVL twice and things have gotten here intact, but if you really want to make sure that something gets there the same way it left, don't just palatte & wrap it, crate that sucker. Even the most speed happy forklift jockey will have a hard time destroying it if it's done right.
