Currently repairing an original Sega Wonder Boy (system 8) board, have fixed many faults but one remains and that appears to be a fault with the composite blanking signal. In the absence of any schems (are there any? I can't find any) does anyone happen to know which chip is responsible for generating the blanking signal please, ie that stops graphics being drawn outside of the normal area?

Thanks

Very ooooold thread, but are you asking which area of the board makes the border black??

Oooh, old thread! :)

Cripes, I can't remember now - must have fixed it whatever it was - however, your answer could still be useful for future reference. :)

Thanks

Its on one of my WB repairlogs on AA, probably on RCM too :) Not technically the blanking signal as far as the monitor is concerned tho.
