there is a CL add for a guy who goes by wolfman, Gilbert Sanchez. He seems to be a broker for pins and drives his semi around selling them out of the back. I looked him up on pinside and RGP. Seems he has been to some big pin shows with a lot of project machines. His current batch of pins includes a fish tales. I have asked if I can bring along a generator to plug it in if it looks to be in decent enough shape. Seems a few folks have gotten amazing deals, others got a bit burned. Any details on him would be appreciated.

A guy near my area has a very nice T2 that he is looking to get a pin in trade plus cash, but made a decent offer on price buying it straight up. I am for some reason torn on which one I would like. I think FT is a deeper pin and worth a bit more, but T2 seems like a poor mans AFM to me with the fan layout.

Opinions appreciated.

I have a T2 and love mine, is it a really deep game, no but it is still fun to play. I have played Fish Tales and that one bores me, I don't see what the big deal is with that one. Personally from those two, I would go with T2. I added the cointaker led kit and a underbody led kit to mine and it looks fantastic.

he said he likes to meet at walmart parking lots near the interstate. He would be in Lincoln sometime tues. I just read he has a trailer on a semi, so that makes sense. I emailed early this morn asking if I could bring along a generator to fire up the FT to see what shape it is in. I have not heard back yet.

my spidey senses are tingling very hard, and would demand I get to plug it in before I buy for sure. If he is not willing to let me actually check the FT out I will pass.

I guess it all comes down to him contacting me again. He responded very quickly to his CL post, but nothing since. Might just chalk this one up as a thing I was better off passing up.

Yeah I was dealing with that guy to. Did you end up getting anything? I was talking to him last night and he told me to call him today and then when I called him this morning to find out where he was at he told me he sold all of the pins to a dealer in lincoln.

ouch. All sold? I am guessing it was the mobile audio guy. Would explain why I have not heard back from him. Oh well.

I only got one CL email back from him. Guess I will work the T2 avenue from here on. I like the game.

I have a fund for pins and after selling a couple I have enough cash to get a decent title. It hurts to sit on it, but I think it might work for the best.

NE CL watchers I refresh like crazy so look out ;)

Be glad you didn't get the FT and focus on the T2. If the one you are looking at has a really nice PF then go for it if the price is fair. Most T2's I've seen tend to have busted-ass PF's, they must have gotten alot of play... like Addam's Family's.

Here is the deal with Gilbert. He is based in my city and I've seen this first hand.

He travels around to auctions and warehouses and buys a ton of pins. He goes all over, but I know he does a lot in Mississippi and Texas. He's been doing this a long time, and he has a customer base of pinball dealers that have cash and are reliable buyers.

The regular buyers, (the pinball dealers) get first crack at his stuff. If you or I are contacted by him, there is a 100% chance the game was passed on by several people first. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it does ensure that the game is not priced to move. If the price was great, or even good, it would have been bought already.

He has a reputation for selling games at blowout prices. However, a while ago, maybe a year or two ago, he changed his approach. He got frustrated by seeing the local pinball dealers buying a game, running a rag through it, then marking it up 30% - 60%. He started selling his games clean and fully working for much higher prices. This fully working approach didn't last long, but his prices never fully returned to blowout level, those days are over.

Long story short, he's not buying nearly as much as he used to. He's always said you can't plug anything in, but he's never said no to me when I asked nicely. I've never bought a game from him, I've come close, but at the end of the day based on the quality of titles and the quality of the machines, it's nothing but left overs.

He sells lots of games that are easy fixes, he sells lots of games that are messed up. It's a crapshoot.
