Wolfeel’s WICO Four Inchers - Reproduction Robotron size Wico joystick shafts.

Konami cabs didn't come with 4" sticks... that's crazy talk. :)
Pull out a stick shaft and measure it. Post a pic of your purple stick with a ruler beside it.

Have you ever even seen the underside of a factory panel for these games? They're routed out where the base sits.

Sorry, but you're simply wrong that there are 4" sticks in these games. Maybe if you're using a recut panel you'd need 4" to get the clearance.

I don't know what the point is of arguing it, seems rather silly, but here's a shot of my TMNT control panel for posterity...and they sit 1" above. This is an original CP, as are others I've worked on recessed like this. The sticks I pulled out were 3.5", sticks that went in were as well.

Can't say I've ever seen purple 4" sticks anyway, yellow maybe...blue, I'm not sure.

P.S. Yeah she's dusty...she gets no love anymore and must hate my pins.

Well you better show it some love then (lol). Excellent pic. I've worked with a couple Simpsons and a TMNT cab and never found a recessed surface on the underside and both panels looked original and the sticks looked original (too original to the point of a rusty mess). Now that I think about it, one of the TMNT cabs was a Sunset Riders conversion, perhaps that's the mental image that I'm referring back to. Both Simpsons cabs I worked with I'm positive had a flat underside. I've worked with 3 X-Men cabs (2 4P, 1 6P) and those were also flat underneath but they all have the Wico microswitch sticks. Perhaps some TMNT's were recessed and some weren't or TMNT was always recessed and the other Konami games were flat under the panel.

With regard to the 4" purple, they are found in X-Men cabinets for sure. Not sure about Turtles in Time though, I've never opened one of those.

Here ya go. I'm having problems linking the file directly so you'll have to click the link.

Blasphemer! Lies! You made those yourself and rusted them too! :D

Gotta wonder if maybe they ran out of 4" sticks then, and started routing panels for 3.5" sticks...or if they started using 3.5" sticks and moved to 4's to avoid the routing(XMen is newer afterall)

Nice! And you had the pics up in about 20 minutes, so nobody can accuse you of photoshopping. :D

Good question. I have no idea, I'm just as puzzled. I was just as shocked seeing your recessed panel. I guess it is possible that I saw TMNT with that panel, but I'm more familiar with the multiple panels from Sunset Riders, Simpsons, and X-Men that had flat undersides. I also thought that it was always the 4" multicolor sticks (along with just red) that were sought after.

Wu used to sell the 4" light blue Wico sticks for the same price as the regular 3.5" sticks. Not sure if he still has them.

I just checked on that myself, light blue and pink are all that's left in 4". I tried to buy 4" sticks from him 2 1/2 years ago in blue, red, yellow, and purple colors and he didn't have any, only 3.5". Back then you had to buy a lot of 10 so I did with intentions of recessing some Konami panels oddly enough.

Join me young Fornjki-walker! I may have to install em tomorrow and Post some smashtv before and after pix!

Tom

Look forward to seeing them. The stick shafts are the only parts of my cab that don't look nice so I'd like to get an idea of what the panel will look like after replacement.
