After 4+ years with the adapter installed, my Tron lost the high scores and credits. I am assuming the battery has gone bad on the adapter. The Arcade Shop version looks different than mine. Can I simply just replace the battery?

FWIW, you could just get an NVRAM and not have to worry about batteries for the foreseeable future. (10-15 years or so).

We put an Arcade Shop adapter on one of ours at the arcade, I just put a spare MK48Z02 NVRAM on it and called it done as far as the HS/setting go.

I have no idea how to go about replacing the battery on Wizzes'. I'm sure it's just a matter of ordering a new one and removing the old one, then blah blah blah. But the NVRAM is so much easier IMO. Probably cheaper in the long run too.

They just came out with a new version of this item. I have been testing it for a while now with no problems.

Maybe a component that helps charge the existing Ni-MH Battery has failed.

Mine had corroded connection when it did that, it was the connection going to the board set from the battery, it ran forever saving scores and then one day nothing.

But I knew it was something else because my battery still had good voltage.
