Hi,

I have a dedicated Wizard of Wor cabaret. Upon powering it on I only get a white screen with horizontal lines. No game sounds, coin up, etc.

Can someone please guide me on what the first things you would check are in order?

I am unsure on how to test the voltages on this older style power supply - though I imagine that would be first, followed by checking the six fuses at the bottom, but please let me know.

If anyone could point me in the right direction - I would really appreciate it!

Thanks.

I would check and reseat all connections to the monitor, the card cage, the RGB board, and the power supply. Reseat all of the cards in the card cage, and ensure that they are in the correct locations. You can measure +5v on any RAM chip on the CPU board with a DMM.

Personally, I would recommend buying a switching power supply and adapter from Arcadeshop for this game. Many differing opinions on this, but I'm just not a fan of the original power supplies on these particular games.

Anyway, a few starting points to consider.

Thanks Jason, I will do that. For the connections to the monitor - the monitor should be discharged beforehand, correct?

For checking the +5V how do you do that when they are in the cage? Or am I pulling the first board completely out of the cage where the harness connects?

Check the incoming harness for your card rack system. If you are missing a voltage, remove a card and recheck.
