wish a had a box full of these laying around !

I've seen only a couple of other auctions with this game... It could go for around $5000...

That's one of the few games I could never find. If I was still collecting I would never pay that price for it as I probably would never open it.

So did the person on ebay buy from the CL ador did they try and sell in on CL first and just not take the auction down?

I bought a "Chase The Chuckwagon" cart for 50 cents a while back at a flea market. Ended up trading it for about $175 worth of gaming stuff.

I think that game is now considered "extremely rare" rather than "unbelievably rare". People started clearing out their closets, and a lot more of them turned up.

In my experience, the Atari home gaming market is all over the place. There's only a consensus on certain items.

Thats assinine(sp?). What in the hell is wrong with people?

There's NO Atari 2600 game worth that much money.

Matt

I just... uhm... What!? This confuses me... why would anyone... I mean... WHAT!?

i know one that goes for that much is commavid's video life. if you go on atariage.com they have a list of super rare stuff, like swordquest waterworld, etc.

I found out there's a huge market for unopened Atari and Nintendo games. Over a year ago I put up an sealed Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine on eBay that ended up going for over $800. The lady never paid and gave me some crap excuse but I eventually sold it for $500 to a guy in England. I thought I might get $50 for it. That was crazy.

I'm surprised it is going for that much...especially since this game went into production even if it was limited quantity..if it were a prototype or one of a few.. then I could see it..but like I always say.. value is what someone will pay no matter what the motive..:D

Whoa, I had a Music Machine cassette tape made by the same people as this game when I was a kid. Had no idea they made a 2600 game, and also had no idea that there's a 5000 dollar Atari game.

*searches frantically for my cassette and lists on eBay*

That is completely insane.
