I went to Mame addict, they were no help with the FAQ, so Im here...asking for help.
Notes:
-"Vakoss" control pad, and test by using a button wire from the Arcade panel to the intended control input.
-According to my meter, Im drilling holes at the indicated red dots in my picture.

Problem:
-When I test "up," it wants to move down.
-When I test "right," it wants to move left.
-When I use the leftover control button parts, it works correctly (up, and right)
-Everything is setup correctly.

My QUESTON is based on the control picture, am I suppose to wire 2 wires somehow for "up," and "right?" Help me!:)

Nevermind the holes that I drilled by mistake. And my other QUESTION is how do you mame guys drill or do you have a special board hole puncher? My smallest drillbit still seem too large.

I just soldered directly to the pad with some flux and rosin core solder.

The pad next to the direction or button should be the signal, and then there should be a common ground that all of the buttons lead to. That will be your second wire

I just finished hacking a game pad as well for my brother's cab....I wish I had though of your drilling method as it was a pain soldering directly to the contact pads.

As for drill bits, I have several dremel attachment bits that are very small....might try that route

Ground I know. Im asking about if there are 2 wires need to make it move "up" and "right", so total of 3 wires with the ground.

1 wire from each signal, then one wire to the ground. You can daisy chain the ground from there

OK. This is going to be a troubleshoot for me then. I am thinking like you, but the UP (goes down) and RIGHT (goes left) when I test it out with the arcade button part. But if I use the a leftover button and push it, it works correctly. I need to figure it out.

Are u attaching the wire to the correct switch? When you push the joystick up, it's gonna hit the switch on the opposite side underneath

Look at the red dots in my picture, that is where I will/should drill. According to my meter when I read it. Only issue is with UP and Right.

EDIT: Im testing the all buttons with a single button from the control panel to see if it functions. I have not solder anything yet.

How is that working? Are the wires flaking off easy?

Yes, with the leftover controller buttons, but not with the wire from the arcade joystick/button. Any idea from the picture I took?
