Sorry if this is the wrong section. Anyways I'm turning my cab into a mame cab and I'd like to use these speakers on the PC. How would I do it?(Could I wire them into a headphone jack each and then use a headphone splitter?)

A standard headphone jack has 3 wires: ground, left signal and right signal.

So what you want to do is take one wire from each pair, tie them together and tie them to the ground. The leftover wire for the left speaker connect to the left terminal/wire of the jack, the leftover right wire to the right terminal/wire.

If you connect them bot to separate jack you will get mono sound, plus you will put a larger load on the amplifier. (4 ohms instead of 8).

I stripped a pair of headphones and there were 4 really tiny wires... Where can I get a normal plug?

2 of those 4 are connected together. Use a multimeter and you can figure out which 2. Or take a drive down to radio shack... they also sell plugs there.

Chances are the headphone out on your computer doesn't have the balls to run real speakers, so you'll need a powered audio amp, not just a headphone jack...

Yep, this. I have a Capcom Qsound amp in my MAME cab... Run an 1/8 inch jack from the headphone output of my PC to the RCA L/R of the Qsound. Qsound is hooked up to the cab speakers.

If your soundcard has a Line Out (instead of a headphone out), you may be able to get enough volume without an amp. Line level sound is much higher than headphone output.

here is what i do for my mame builds
i buy these
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0220684
take them all the way appart and desolder the wire from the speakers
cut a couple of sections of an old bic pen (to use as stand off's)
mount the amp borad in the front of the cab (so easy axcess to sound controll knob from inside the coin door )
then run the speaker wires to the original speakers in the cab (usually have to extend the wires)
then plug it all in to the pc and bam you have amplfied sound for 7$

Interesting... Do you need to plug these in to the wall? I'm assuming they need power from somewhere..

yup they plug into the wall
to deal with power in my mame machines (monitor/pc/light/speakers)
i buy these in a 10 pack for 3.50 from hd

i wire my cabs like this
power cord into cab
power cord goes to fuse block
fuse block goes to on off switch
then on off switch wired to 2 of thoes connected togather scrwed to the inside of the cab

works great gives me power for everything without having mutiple powercords running out of the machine or without having to have a power strip floating around inside the cab

if you are not fully rewiring the cab then you can just tie one outlet in to the original wireing somewhere before your iso and after the fuse block

again as stated without an amp you are not going to get any sound (at least not enough to really hear well)
you will either need to purchase an amp from one of the online retailers or scavange one out of some pc speakers like i do

buying the auido plug will do nothing for you at all

if you hook that up and then plug it into the output on your motherboard or sound card you will get sound no louder than a quief

Actually it worked fine, it does sound crappy but enough to listen to some music etc.

For my setup, I borrowed an old Speaker Wire that just happened to have an RCA cable attached. It had the two wires I needed once I shaved away the wire housing, and when hooked up it worked perfectly. One RCA connector gets both left and right speakers and you can connect it to any TV in the house...
