So I am trying to wire an empty cab using Bob Roberts layout.
http://www.therealbobroberts.net/acwiring.html
From what I can see, the power follows this path: (I have excluded the on/off switch and fuse)

Wall Outlet -> AC Filter -> Power Distribution Block -> ISO Transformer -> Monitor
Also, power for the Power supply and marquee light come from the distribution block as well.

Both the cabs I have been looking at fopr a reference have a different path
Outlet -> ISO Transformer -> Filter -> Power Supply -> Monitor (with power to marquee light coming straight from the line filter as well)

Is this OK, or is Bob's layout better/safer?

Thanks,
Shawn

I've seen some variations like you are mentioning but If I am starting a new cab I always use bob's way, mostly because I am used to doing it that way.

As long as your outlet power goes through the isolation transformer prior to going into the monitor (depending on monitor and assuming it's the proper iso trans) you should be good.

Marquee light can come from wherever.

Thanks.

What size/type fuse should I put on the hot wire? One of my games has a fuse/holder, but I cannot read the markings on it.

I have a 3A Slow Blow fuse on hand, would that work? (Not sure about the whole slow blow/fast blow difference)

Yes, that will work.
I always route the power to an on/off switch before anything else. Then to the line filter to the distribution block and from there to the ISO, switcher and marquee light.
