What are the connectors called that are usually translucent red that have the razor blade cutting notch for each wire.

I need to make an 11 pin harness but have no idea what this connector is called.

Those are Insulation Displacement Connectors, often called IDC, and "crap". I'd avoid that style - use good quality crimp type molex pins and housings. Pins and housings are available in both .156 and .100.

The problem with the IDC type connectors is that they really don't make the best connection with the wire, and they age badly. In applications (like power connectors) with moderate current draw, they can burn and otherwise fail. But, they were cheaper and easier for the manufacturer - and that's why we have so many connector-related problems now.

Yeah, listen to Ian. Replace them with the crimp style and problems will not re-occur. I have both the .100 and .156 with me if you'd like some, but I will need my crimper for the trip to Darryl's this weekend. Or, you can purchase them from Bob Roberts, Molex, Fry's, and many other places online.

I think a set of .156. I need it to connect the ADSP to the main PCB on the STUN Runner.

If you got a set I can swing by this evening.

I am almost certain that I have what you need. I should be available most of the night. Do you still have my phone number? Just give me a call before you come over.
