I am wiring a scramble cabinet. Everything works except for the 2nd player. The control panel is only 1 joystick. Where do I get the wiring to connect to the 2nd player pins? Splicing in a wire for 2nd player pins near the edge connector seems sloppy. What is the correct way to get the 2nd player wiring done? The picture is where what it looks like now. Not sure where I am supposed to get the wires for the 2nd player joystick and buttons. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks

Also, I have read other posts that say I don't need to hook up the 2nd player because the games alternate players and don't play simultaneous. But I have the player 1 hooked up and only player 1 works.. when it switches to second player I am not getting any input. What am I doing wrong? I would like to understand this.

It looks as if you have a jamma harness. Just wire the 2nd player to the same place that you wired the 1st player.

I am not sure I understand. Where do I splice in those wires? A few inches above the Edge connector? That edge connector is a 36 pin for the scramble pinout and the Jamma adapter that is plugged into it is for a multigame card. So you are saying the whole harness is a Jamma harness? So I should get a new edge connector and use the pinout for Jamma?
Does scramble need p2 joystick wired even though it only has 1 joystick?
Thanks

Let me see if I have this correct. You have a Scramble cab and you want to use a multiboard game in this cab. To do this you have an adapter board that converts your Scramble harness to Jamma. Is this correct?

If this is correct, then check with a continuity tester (DMM) and see if the Jamma pinouts for player 2 match up with the joystick that you have in the cab.

Yes. But even without the adapter when I just have the scramble board plugged in then only the 1st player works. The second player wont move. Even though the second player is supposed to be alternating on the same joystick as the 1st player.

More likely since 2nd player does not work on either board, I'd say that your Scamble harness is missing the 2nd player wiring. Here are the pinouts for your Scramble.
So what is the preferred way to wire in the 2nd player wiring? Do I splice in the second player wiring a few inches above the edge connector? One side is going to the edge connector pins but where do I connect the side of the wires? I am assuming I would just connect them to the player one wires but where would this happen?
Thanks

The way I would do it is loop the 2 player wire to the 1 player wire at the harness. Take the 1 player wire out and crimp them both together. This would look very clean and neat. This would also save some time since you already have the 1 player wired up and both boards will work in the cab.

It was setup for upright. I checked twice. lol

Got it to work finally thanks for all the help! I wired up the 2nd player to the same as the 1st. Works great with jamma games too. I can control both players at the same time if I select 2 players in games like Aerofighters and Task Force Harrier.

Thanks!
