Wire Crimpers

For the "weekend warrior", the $15 one at the bottom of the page are fine. You want something a little better....the $25 are fine. You want a set of real crimpers...open up the wallet for the various $95 a piece ones.

I used the $15 ones for years. My only problem....the jaw wears out. The amount of crimping I do....and harness building.....I was buying a new one every couple of months. I finally bit the bullet and bought one of the $95 ones (actually, mine came from Mouser...who charged $125 for the same thing....before ED at GPE started stocking them). Hands down, the best crimper I've ever used. I have since bought the entire set (yes, a lot of coin for some crimpers). They still work as good as new.....and my first one is going on five (plus) years old.

If you're not doing MAJOR work....the cheaper one are (actually) very good.

I've got a few sets of those pro crimpers. They are nice. If you have the correct die for the pin, you insert it, and it holds the pin in place without having to start the ratchet cycle. Very nice indeed. If you do alot of crimping they are worth every bit of $95
