Winston-Salem June 4th Roll Call

you guys are hardcore-

Greenbrier to Winston- 450mi / 7.5 hr

Birmingham to Winston - 465mi / 7.5 hr

Columbia to Winston - 180mi / 2.75 and I overthink it all the time.

I'm still thinking about it.

I just stopped by the auction (for those that don't know, they will let you in the night before to see what is there). Just a warning, there wasn't much there in the way of classic games. The closest things to classic games were some of the more recent "multi-classics".. such as the Pacman anniversary games, the Dk/DK jr/Mario Bros cab, Centipede/Millipede/Missile Command cab, etc. There were maybe 4 - 5 of those in total. That was about it in terms of "classic" titles.

There were some gun games, a bunch of sit down drivers (the Cruisin Usa type), a bunch of redemption games, etc. There were around 10 pinball machines. There were lots of the touch screen bar top games, a few pool tables and air hockey tables, 1 bubble hockey, and a few foosball tables.

I am sure there will be more stuff there by the time it opens tomorrow. But when I left at about 9:30... there wasn't too much that really caught my eye.

Just wanted to give a heads up. Sounds like some people are planning to drive quite a distance to get to the auction. Just want to make sure that people are aware that this one looks like it will be pretty small (compared to others I have seen in Winston where there was barely enough room in the building for all the games.

Pretty slim pickings as of this evening....

Well, that's kinda lame for everyone else. Works for me, because friggin' Enterprise screwed up my vehicle reservation and got me a mini-van instead of a cargo van. I'm still going, but as a spectator only.

Yes indeed, the auction looks weak thus far.

But the auction in Kingsport last month looked about the same Friday night. A lot of stuff came in Saturday morning and it turned out to be a good auction after all.

Had to leave early, because my sleep deprivation was getting the best of me. (And all the stuff that I could reasonable bring back with me had already been sold) Wish I had stayed later, though - I wanted to see how much Tekken 5 and Mario Kart GP went for.

At least I got to play some Street Fighter II Turbo, Donkey Kong and Galaga while i was there, plus I discovered a few games I never knew I needed.

Tekken 5 went for around $600 and I stopped bidding at $550.

The first Mario Kart went for $2200 and I think the high bidder took both at that price.

I picked up another nice Nice for Speed GT for $600. Figure I'll link it with the one I already have.

Also picked up another one for $275 that had a PCB problem.

Not bad on the T5 (I think - first auction I've been to, so I'm only accustomed to eBay/CL prices) - did it work? I tried to hook it up, but there wasn't even a power cord in the back when I tried to extension cord it during the preview period.

Thanks for the answers, too - and nice job on the Need For Speeds.

Did you guys see any other classic games other than the "multi-machines" that I mentioned on Friday night?

Anybody see the Dig Dug and Kangaroo that had been converted into pokers. I was wondering what was up when I saw they had bill acceptors mounted on them.....Bastards !!!

Spy Hunter

I picked up a Spy Hunter.............

Let me know how you make out with the spy Hunter, we litterly picked that up on the drive down in Maryland. I thought about it the whole way down and decieded just to dump it rather than restore it after I saw how bad it was. Cabinet seemed solid and it seemed complete.
