If you want to know more about windows 98 or need help and some useful tools pm me. I literally have a toshiba libretto connected to a viewsonic a72f crt monitor on my main desk (it's right in front of me now 
) with my main pc because I love old windows stuff. I've rebuilt oem 95-98 os's without the original hdd or recovery disk and have a very deep knowledge of the hardware and software these kinds of old pcs use.

I hated Clippy. Always had to disable him from our work PCs when I set them up.
I love Windows 98. Many years of dealing with it. I have a pile of older computers. I get them ready to go and sell some online. One guy drove a few hours just to get one. He needed a Windows 98 PC for his CNC machine. I even setup his program and printer he brought. Like a week later, the guy sends me an extra gift of a card and gift card because he was so grateful.

I think I fixed my issue. Currently loading Windows 98.
I had to relearn how to burn an ISO to a disc. Figured it out after 4 or 5 disks. not costly today, but 20+ years ago that would have been $25!
Tonight I'll test my hardware and see if I'm 100% in the clear.

Make sure you find the drivers for your hardware, looks like you don't have the graphics driver installed hence the low color mode and low resolution. Hardware accessories also will not work without the drivers, windows 98 without the drivers for your system is almost useless. But great work glad you got it running!

My program runs in DOS so need for higher resolution. Program loaded and ISA card reader is working!
Next test on my game failed, as it will not boot. Had this issue before so I know it will work, just do not remember how I got it to work last time.

As did we all, however, he's now a positive symbol.
