Willis Artwork

Well, here is basically what I know:

Willis was a company in the early 80s that made replacement artwork for arcade machines. (Mostly cpos). I guess they provided a cheap way to get new artwork on a game instead of making ops get it from the manufacturer. However, some Willis stuff looks pretty crappy, yet some of it looks pretty good. I actually have a Willis cpo on my Frogger... managed to get it for real cheap.

I also think companies like Centuri actually hired Willis to create the artwork for their games. I know all the artwork on Phoenix was created by them, but I'm not sure of what other games.

The Willis Centipede CPO looks pretty good IMO. Wish I could say the same for most everything else they made.

I like the one on gorfchampion's Moon Patrol as well:

The Arcade I used to frequent as a kid had Willis overlays on pretty much everything except for Joust... I have a NOS Asteroids Deluxe and a couple different Moon Patrol Overlays myself.

I have a Willis for a TimePilot. Here it is along with the original.

Anyone got a spare willis centiped cpo? The two I have were trimmed and look like butt. I have some dupes I can trade. LMK!

Is this Willis artwork? First is a DK CPO, 2nd is sideart on a Jr Pac (with a Pac-Man Plus marquee!) Both are on machines at Flipper McCoy's in Virginia Beach VA.

The DK overlay looks like a bootleg to me, which is weird because they did a boot of the Willis piece. If it's a Willis product it should actually say Willis on it somewhere. The side art is Willis pac-man I believe.

I know for sure that pac machine has Willis side art. Somebody posted on here a while ago with an NOS set.

I have another pic of one that's probably Willis too, but it's on a different computer. Maybe if I boot it up later tonight, I'll post it. It looks like the same style as the Pac-Man one, but it's Ms Pac (also running Jr Pac). That DK one, I don't see any Willis name on the hi-res image, but could it be by the start buttons? Some of it is missing there. I like how they even did the same bad "Engrish" on the instruction card as a real DK.

The Ms Pac Willis artwork has her looking like a street walker, can't mistake that one. The DK bootleg has elements from the Willis and the original actually, you can see the willis piece on my page

Yes I know I posted this earlier in the thread. I just like to get more than 2 hits in one day on my site :)

OK, here's the pics of that Ms Pac artwork (in the game also running Jr Pac). It also has a different CPO, but the front has the standard Jr Pac artwork. Is the CPO a Willis one?
