Check the flipper fuse. I'm not totally sure about that specific game but usually there is a fuse under the playfield near the flippers. If it's good check for positive voltage at the coils. If that's good you've got a problem in the ground path. Most likely the flipper relay or flipper relay driver transistor.

is this a bad driver board?

No. Unless the flipper relay is on the driver board and that's the source of your problem but I still wouldn't call it a bad driver board.

that is what i have been told.

I would ask the person who told you that why they told you that and what specifically is wrong with the driver board. If it was just a guess then don't take any more advice from that person.

Start by checking the fuses. Then read this:

Sorcerer is Williams System 9.

EDIT: Also, the flippers are driven by their own power supply on that game (50V power supply). If you don't have voltage at the flipper fuse or coils I would look there first.

thanks alot for that helpful advice. i will try that tomarow when i go to my shop to work on it. the homeowner i got it from told me the flippers stopped working a few times on him and when his regular "pinball maintenance guy" stopped by all it was, was a fuse. i will check over what you said and see where that gets me.
thanks again
