I have two Williams cabs, one a Joust, one a Defender... both have been JAMMAtized and both have expendable games in them. I was thinking about building another Williams Multigame based on JROK's board in one or both. I figure it would cost me in the realm of $600 or so in materials, parts, art, etc to build each. The problem I have is that I am not sure I could even pull $600 for a nice Williams Multigame in this market. I'd have to be able to sell for at least $850 to make it even worth my time...

What are the chances of finding someone willing to cough up $1200 (with shipping) for a nice Williams Multigame in this economy?

Location is a big one. Also, I've been researching a lot lately on these MW's. I've seen sites ask any where from $1200-$2400 and selling them. Would a Klovian pay that - hell no. But who's going to buy this is the same "type" of person that pays $1800 for a 60-1 ;)
Not to pick on RLEVIN but he's getting money out this old crap why shouldn;t you?

You think with what you have right now and what you would need to purchase would cost you $600+ for a MW?

I had been trying to sell mine for 700 Canadian and no dice. I had a couple offers of 500. I might be able to get 700 if i reprogrammed the AS PCB to have pac and stuff on it. but what a hassle. maybe when i get my joust with jrok rolling i will do that

But like mentioned before depends on the area

The $600 estimate includes a new monitor, T-Molding, Wico sticks, leaf buttons, CPO, marquee side art bezel the JROK board, a new power supply, $25.00 toward primer/paint/etc... plus shipping on most.

Sure, I could likely part together A decent MW with most of the parts I have on hand, but it wouldn't be something I was that proud of.

LMAO. Ok I see what you're saying. I figured with your last haul you'd have alot to work with already.

Believe it or not, I have 11 of the 14 games running (5 sold thus far)... of the remaining 3, I need 2 two monitors. One should be an easy rebuild (G07), the other not so much so (Kortek with bad flyback). The last of the non working is the Pole Position.

For monitors, I have been telling people to call on their local 8Liner shops. There have been some outstanding deals as they convert from CRTs to LCDs.

As far as restore vs. MW vs. marshmallow roast, it's kind of a tossup. I have a couple of Defender cabinets that I could spend $400 easily to restore, that will sell for $175 on a good day. I'm probably going to restore the best one back to a Defender using parts on hand (I have original power supplies, power bricks, bezel, marquee, working board set (thanks to Saltbreez), buttons, monitors and a joystick). The only thing I am missing is the Defender control panel, but that is just a chunk of wood with a CPO on it. The side art is passable, so I probably won't get the stencils. But at the end of the day, I am going to have a working Defender and I hate that game, but it costs too much to do anything else with it. :(

You'd probably be better off converting the Joust back to a Joust (I know where you can get a boardset ;)).
