I am looking to build a WIlliams 19-n-1 cabinet, first here's why: I am mostly interested in Robotron, but the idea of offering a few options to visitors intrigues me. I can't afford a decent working Robotron game, and I don't know enough about the electronics to fix up a non-working one. (That being said, if someone has an interesting offer in the Milwaukee, WI area PM me)

So, I have a working Joust but it's not a jamma. It has also be modified to also play Stargate and Rastan (3 boards inside with one connector you move - pretty cool actually). I'd like to maintain this one. I also have a Dark Adventures Jamma cabinet. I don't really like Dark Adventures and no one else seems to play it. I was considering converting this to a Robotron or multi cabinet.

I know I would need a control panel, but - what else would I need? (there is one board (actually set of two) in there)

Can I reuse the monitor, power supply, etc?

Does a multi board emulate exactly as an original Robotron board? I would like to be 100%.

Is there a jamma Robotron board?

Thanks a bunch

Some purists will balk at the idea of a Robotron or even multi-Williams in such a cabinet. But you shouldn't need much with a JROK board, aside from a CP and the associated wiring.

Probably.

You should read up on the JROK Multi-Williams board: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=61572 It is generally regarded as the most exact to the original, and it has a JAMMA pinout (with support for additional inputs beyond JAMMA that are required under certain circumstances, see the WSF manual).

Thank you! I sent him a PM. I would like a dedicated, original game some day...but I have been saying that for 10 years. The JROK looks great and a good way to go until I win the lottery...or someone local make me a killer deal ;)

this general layout will let you play the basic multi-williams selection. you can shorten up the bottom section and sides to make it more narrow as needed (this example was for the cheap zippyy sticks at the jamma websites: good luck and keep us up to date on your progress:

Yup a jrok board is the ticket. Buy it now before it sells out. Once they are gone, you will pay through the nose to get someone to sell you a used one.
