Wow - looks like an awesome project. I can't believe the playfield is in such good condition considering the horrendous condition of those habitrails. It really must not have been played very much - all the better for you.

Best of luck to you!

Seriously some wicked restoration right there! You must be psyched about how this is progressing.

I've got to do a similar job on mine... however I'm starting from a fully working (pretty darn clean) machine so my motivation isn't as great.

I've gold(brass) plated all of my trim and have collected nearly all I need to make it 100% perfect (except that "1 piece ;)" )

I plan on clear-coating the play field myself so I'm getting my shop set up to do that and then... I have to get crack'in.

In the mean time I'll just watch your project and live vicariously through it! :)

I want one of those chrome coin doors. But if you look at my serial sticker it says IJ - 3 SLOT.

So i'm torn into making it a 2 slot, maybe I should strip and rebuild the original coin door and chrome it?

Oh yeah... I didn't catch that. I sent my ramps, lockdown bar and coin door to Mike Chestnut (US) for plating so I didn't actually have to replace those major components. They came out spectacular!

beautiful restore right there alpha!

wow, never realized what the german ops did to those poor pinballs. 8 - 10 of them all locked up together! those drill holes in the sides of the cab were hard to look at.

love the inside paint job of the cab too. that yellow is just beautiful. i almost think the chrome door is too much, leave it black (imho).

again, you da man :) chris

That is awesome. Can you tell me who does the decal reproductions? That looks awesome. I need new ones for a TZ.

Thanks.

If you click on his link to the full restoration thread on another forum board I think it said that he found some NOS stickers from someone.

Alpha1, This is so awesome how you are taking a beat down parts machine that hardly had a chance of being a working pin again and literally are turning into a work of art! Nice work man and I look forward to the updates on the other site.

I would really like to do this to my Addams Family or another Addams one day, but it is no where near in the budget right now. I hate to ask what you have in it, but if you feel the same way about Indiana Jones as I do about The Addams Family it's worth every cent.

Warning screened onto the back of the backbox!

I take delivery of it tonight so complete cabinet shots coming soon!!!

Yeah man. It was beat to hell but I got it for $700. I think i've spent $300 getting all the missing mechanisms for the playfield as well as new rubbers and nos parts also.

I need to sink another $500 into it for pcbs and a new DMD (the one I have is only temporary).

On top of that is the cost of the restoration of the cabinet as well as the rebuild of the PF - but hell it is worth it!!

My favourite pin is TZ, I have a fairly nice one but I might do this treatment to it in the new year. We'll see - let's see how stressed out I get at this one ;-)

Heck I thought you would have had a lot more coin than that in it. I'm sure you'll come in well under what an "average" un-restored Indiana Jones goes for and yours will look better than new. Just shows what determination and elbow grease will get you.
