What should I use if anything on these target drive chains for lube?
One of them is quite heavy duty, reminds me of a small motorcycle chain. Definately bigger the a bicycle chain. Feels like it has a thin coat of grease on it.
The other chain is very small and appears to be dry. doesnt look very well built to me either compared to the other chain.

Anyone that has experiance with these or knows what Williams recomended would be much appreciated. Anyone have a PDF manual for Aqua Gun by chance?

Thanks!

Thank you,
Yes, Marvins site has helped me fix many EM pinball machines. The absolute best site there is for pin repair.
Tle lube section you linked me to is great info fior sure. But....Did not mention anything about lubrication of chains. It does say metal to metal can be lubed and since the small chain has some light rusting I am thinking it needs something.
Guess I will try to find a manual for the game and hopefully it will shed some light.

I wonder if you could use 3 in 1 oil? Maybe as long as a guy keeps out the flammables(WD-40 etc) you should be ok. A light coating with 3 in 1 should work. Maybe wipe it with a clean rag afterwards so there is nothing dripping?

The chains don't move that fast anyway(compared to a motorcycle or whatever), so you shouldn't have to worry about lube flying off...

I personally would be cautious about using grease, it just attracts dirt. I wonder if they greased it at the factory?

That's usually what I do.
A dab of fresh oil helps loosen any old gummed up lube and leaves a light coating for preservation.
Definitely don't go hog wild on it or you'll have oil slung all over artwork and such.
These chains don't need to be "wet" with oil, just a light sheen of it.
I typically dab and wipe a small section at a time.

Thanks guys. The 3 in 1 oil worked great & the game is up and running after 20+ years of storage.
