Right flipper stopped working, the coil is frozen. It looks to be pretty new. My 6 year old was playing it and smashing the flipper buttons over and over again for about 10 minutes. Doesn't seem like that would cause it.

Also, now when the ball goes into the Spook House (Mystery Wheel) it doesn't come back out after the wheel spins. Could this also be a coil issue?

Seems odd that both coil problems would come up at the same time but oh well.

Thanks for the assistance.

Sounds like the RH flipper coil melted. Operating the flippers in that manner should not cause the coil to melt, if everything was working properly anyway.

Odds are good there is an issue with the end of stroke switch on the flipper causing the pull-in/high current winding to remain energized after the flipper reaches full travel.

The pinrepair guides (linked in post above) do an excellent job of covering the flippers and EOS switches, and properly adjusting the EOS switch. Consider reviewing all of that and investigating your EOS switches before replacing the melted coil.

It could be possible that 10 minutes of non-stop flipper jamming caused the flipper button switch to seize together. They do tend to arc a bit when the get dirty. Might want to check out those switches also.

Thanks for the replies. Yes the coil melted. I replaced it last night and made sure that the stroke switch was properly opening when the flipper is being used.

But now both flippers are really weak when they hit the ball. Now sure what could be causing that, they both were very strong before I had the coil melt.

The eject for the cellar hole is still dead. Still looking into that one. Maybe it's a power issue.

On the flippers, check fuse F7. It's weird the way it works, but if F7 is blown the flippers will function, but be weak.

Assuming no mechanical issues with the flippers (binding flipper links, shafts/bushings):

If ok, back to EOS switches and flipper button switches.

If no issues with EOS or cab switches, check the rectifier for the flipper power circuit for connection problems, bad solder joints or an open diode.

Thanks for the information.

The coils:

I put the game into test mode and only a few coils are working. the bumpers, outhole, C drop target, ferris wheel, left jet, right jet and bottom jet. You can hear a click in for the others but that's it.

I checked the fuses, no problems. Looks like they were replaced.

Maybe it's a loose wire somewhere.

Any ideas?
