Recently got a comet but the playfield looks horrible. Anyone knows if there is a scan or overlay out there? I have no clue where to start.... If nothing else works i will repaint it...but its more than a touch up... It needs big parts. And it's very artsy...

I have professional printer at my work, so a scan would also be fine since i can print it myself.

Thank you in advance.

You could scan it yourself. I bought a HP 4670 "See Through" scanner off craigslist for $25 (or something real close to that) to scan the playfield for my Apollo restoration. Works like a champ! I ended up repainting the entire playfield. I used the scans for lettering and other fine details.

No overlay!

This pin *screams* of repro playfield! It's very rare that you see a Comet playfield that doesn't have wear spots!

I've contacted CPR about Comet, and it's not even in their queue for next couple of years! Doesn't really make sense that they do Cyclone, successor, and not Comet... BUT, I still appreciate their work even though their next choices for CPR playfields, have no rhyme or reason....

@ Half Life that might be a good idea. Do you have pics how your playfield ended up? Did you paint the playfield en glued parts on it or something? Are you good with photoshop or do you have great skills in other edting software? I am but an amateur... was it hard?

@ Schusler yes i wish i could afford one! But i am no position to buy a new playfield. I did however see a reasonable good playfield in the US for 100 bucks. But sending it to me would cost me another 110. So a secondhand playfield with wear spots for 210 dollar is too much. Touching that up and clearcoating it would make it above my budget.
