It has recently come to my attention that a lot of Williams coin doors have been hacked, and the test switches removed. I have found a source for the test switches and brackets.

My question is... How many people need Williams Coin Door wiring with the test switches and mounting bracket?

How much will it cost? No clue right now, but my educated guess would be roughly $25 shipped or less if at all possible. The switches, bracket, label, and switch caps are roughly $10 my cost. Then there is the wire, and quick disconnects for the coin trip switches, lockout coils, and lamps.

I am not going to run right out and start making these, due to my up coming move. Just trying to get an idea of how many people need or would be interested in these.

The games covered would include...
Bubbles
Defender
Joust
Robotron
Sinistar
Stargate
and probably a few others that I can't think of at the moment.

Thanks for your input.
Dave

I would be interested in a few sets.

WOW thats funny!! I have been dealing with hacked Williams coin door harnesses all night. I would be interested for sure!!

Such as most of the Williams pinballs from the same era? They had the same switches (with the same layout).

I know they are needed, as I put an original working one on my webstore and it sold right away (and the originals tend to not work as well as they should anymore).

The question would be whether you made a bracket like the original, or if you created something new that would fit the original footprint...

I'd be interested in one. I ended up making a temporary one for my Joust out of scrap metal, pushbuttons and a toggle switch, but it's very ghetto.

Be careful, some of the pins had the third coin assembly and they switched to a 4 switch setup sometime in the late 80s IIRC.

A source for replacements would be useful. I have a couple of coin doors waiting for some time to unhack them and $25 might make me simply replace the wiring rather than screw with them.

I have also found the 4 switch bracket with switches, but it is a little spendy. Right around $14 IIRC

Dokert...did you ever get around to making a few of these. I sure could use a few of these?

I would be of possible interest myself, but the time frame would be the issue as I am currently working on rebuilding a Robotron. Still working on the cabinet and depending how fast that goes depends on when I would be looking at doing the wiring. ;)

Sigh. Why do people think its cool to post interest to a 4 year old thread.

It's not about cool or not cool. It's about using the search functionality and coming up with a single thread that meets your need. Then you hope by posting on the relevant thread that your dream will come true, even after 4 years!

with that said, sign me up for a Williams coin harness! :)
