Did they all have them? On my Sinistar, I had one plastic runner left on the bottom of one of the sides. On my Moon Patrol, I see rusty bent crown staples sticking out of the bottom of the plywood sides, leading me to believe that these plastic runners were once on this cab as well. Did Williams cabs come standard with these runners, and if so, was there a repro ever done for them?

I had a really nice Moon Patrol a few years back that had them on both sides, even the trademark stickers were still on the sides.

Do you think those were more for packing, similar to the cleats Midway put on the bottom of their cabs, or were they intended to be permanent?

Outwater Plastics has a bunch of 90° trim plastic, if you were inclined, I bet they've got what you're looking for.

I am not sure on the shipping thing, maybe? It seems that they shoulda left it on permanently. They plywood is pretty badly chewed on this cab. I was thinking of the T-molding that they sell that has the outside lip. Just trim the slot spine and staple it onto the bottom.

jpopson has a robotron with the plastics.. mine had rusty staples.

They had them on the sides and the front stock.

They were originally for protecting the bottoms of the cabinets. Sort of scuff guards, but over the years of being shoved around on concrete floors they have worn or torn off. If I have a cab with badly scuffed bottoms I use something a little more durable. Either aluminum channel molding or L bracket painted black and installed to cover the bottoms of the cabinet sides. The aluminum will stand up to a lot more wear than the original plastic.
