Hi new to the board, I have a williams duramold Blaster. Anyone here repair those boards??

Has sound at start up -but just has colored mess on the screen. Did a self test and it says it needs ram.

Any suggestions- I have thought about putting in a williams multi board.

There are several of us here that repair Williams boards. There are also some things you can do before wasting money on useless board repairs:
1) Unplug and reconnect all cables to make sure everything is connected.
2) look on the power supply board and make sure that all 3 lights are lit.
3) gently wiggle the ROM board cable while reseting the boards via the reset switch on the CPU board and see if that changes the symptoms. If it does, you may need to recrimp the ribbon cable to the ROM board.
4) test the power on the CPU board on one of the RAM chips. Be very careful not to short the pins with the meter probles.

Measure the voltage at the 4 corners of one of the RAM chips.
The voltages should be
Pin 1 = -5V,
Pin 8 = +12V
Pin 9 = +5V
Pin 16 = Ground
The pins are numbered starting in the upper left corner, going counter clockwise.
If any of them are low or are fluctuating more than 0.1 V you need to check your power supply.

thank you

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I'm in Britton, Mi. (SE Mich 49229 M-50 and 23 area)

Will check the voltages tommorrow and let you know.
Yellow dog- should I use pin 16 as the ground to check the voltage on 1,8,9 or a ground spot on the board?

Either one, if they are different, you have a problem.

Normally I clip the meter to the ground plane (the wide border around the board) at one of the components that attach to it. That way you are less likely to short across the legs of the RAM chip thereby insuring that you a have a RAM error to fix. :)
