Trying to repair my 1972 Williams EM Fas-tas-tic pinball and I am at a loss as to what is causing my problem so I figured that I would put a call out for some help....

Here's what happens:

The machine works fine when played with only one player but when additional players are added, the game does not switch tpo the other players turns and just stays on player 1/ball 1 for eternity. I have cleaned all switches fully, replaced the coils in the player wheel from the backbox and still nothing. When I manually change the players via the backbox, the game works correctly. Anybody got an idea what my problem is?

Thanks in advance for any assistance that can be provided!!

Sounds like a switch that controls the player count relay / unit isn't closing properly.

Do you have the schematics? If so, I'd look at the player unit, and figure out which switch is supposed to close it. Clean and adjust that switch and you should be in business.

Would agree with the previous comment. There is probably a leaf switch not connecting properly. Definitely need the schematics. When you add a second player, do the lights on the bottom right show a second, third or fourth player was added? That's where I would first start. The next spot would be to check the cam motor switches. Not familiar with this game, but the spinning cam should be in the bottom. Other things to check are the back box connectors. The old style plugs can have the solder joints break ond not connect. You should be able to track from the player stepper unit in the back down to the plug. Make sure everything is good there.
