Anybody have their unit fail where it won't be recognized and also when you plug it in the serial, the power LEDs no longer emit as usual until you hook up say, the 12V power supply? Before when it seemed to be working right, you would hook up the parallel port cable and the yellow LED, if I recall, would illuminate and then the system would be fully up when the 12V line was hooked up.

I merely pulled it out of storage after using it the previous day, and it wouldn't power up, at all. Checked typical things like cold solder joints etc.

I tried searching all over the net for some similar posts of others as they are used big time in car enthusiast sites etc. but no joy.

I think it's the older PCB3B

Anybody?

here's a shot of the very burner I have. Not sure which jumper that is. I really don't trust the horrible info available on this thing.

Is this on the same computer that it previously worked on?
Have the BIOS settings (if any) changed for the parrallel port?
Have you run the "test hardware" option in the software?
Did you update or change version of programming software?

Yeah, same PC, no settings changed, ran test hardware a million times, no change in software. I literally was using it one day, then I pull it out of the padded laptop type bag I stored it in, and zero joy... Makes me think a component or related died on the final shutdown from the previous day.

I messed around with it some, and made sure it was set to ECP in the bios, then restarted, and noticed that when I run the hardware managing software and make a change, the yellow vcc light will come on for a couple seconds, then go off. I then figured out that if I ran the hardware wizard, It would eventually say the hardware was running correctly and the yellow vcc light would remain on. I then load the 0.97i+ software, and it will shut it off. I did manage a combination of plugging the device in running the new hardware wizard and loading the willem software where the yellow light stayed on, but it still wasn't being recognized by the software.

This is just weird, as I had it working at one point in time.

Been a while since I've messed with mine. (PCB3 like yours)

I think my bios is set for ECP+EPP.
And I think I was running 97j or 97ja version software. Seems like mine had fits running anything newer.

you sure thats PCB3 ? as i thought PCB3 didn't have USB Mod?

I have the old school model that was LPT only version, worked well for what it did..
