Ive have this burner for awhile and only used it here and there. I decided to attempt to fix a few of the midway wolf boards that have issues. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to burn them successfully. The chips are erased and show that they are blank. It wasnt supplied with a manual so Ive just been trying all sorts of things. So far these are the only chips that wont burn for me. M27c401's burn great.

I know that I need to switch jumpers on it but cant get it right.

Seems like they may not be erasing...anyone know if these are prone to failure or known to be difficult to erase?

They can take quite a while to erase... how long are you letting them erase? The datasheet actually says 30-40 minutes, though I usually see < 20 mins. I've also had lots of bad M27C801s... about 8 years ago I bought ~10 from Mouser and after just a few uses 3 of them wouldn't (completely) erase... luckily Mouser exchanged them w/ no problem. I personally dislike ST EPROMs though... I've had bad luck with them in general. I prefer the 27C080 from Atmel.

I figured it out...seems i had one of the jumpers wrong. It then worked but only about 30% of the time. Turned the voltage down to 9volts now it burns like a champ.
