Will 'xxxx' game fit in 'xxxx' vehicle - thread - with pics

I searched and did not find anything definitive, so I thought we could start this thread to be useful to others.

I have seen many times on colelctor forums the question "Will this game fit in this vehicle"

Well in this thread, we can now know! :)

I will start.

A Taito upright cabinet (Qix) WILL fit in a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer with the hatch closed.
(back seats folded down of course):

The same Trailblazer will also haul a later model Williams pinball machine with no trouble (Tales of the Arabian Nights) with the hatch closed (obviously it is not closed in this photo, LOL)

Capcom Breakshot fits in a 2003 Kia Spectra GS Hatchback... Please note, the ONLY reason it fits is because the Breakshot is a smaller cabinet. I don't think many of the newer Williams/Bally games would fit. I also don't think any of the standard cabinet Capcom Pins would fit either.

I've posted this before in the following thread, but it's relevant here:

One very helpful tool for this specific question is Google Sketchup. There are tons of newer model vehicles available in the Sketchup Warehouse. If you have the free Sketchup program, just type in a search for your vehicle, download it. Then type in a search for your game in question, download it. Some vehicles are created in engineering measurements, so be sure to change that to architectual measures before you download the cabinet, otherwise the scale will be thrown out of wack.

You'll have to right click the vehicle and 'explode' in order to erase things like the back lift gate, side doors, seats, etc.

I have fit a Pac Man mini on its side in an HHR recently, and once i had a Nintendo and Ma pac upright side by side on there backs in the bed of an ford f-150 in between the fender wells...Snug but worked.

No pics but a Jeep Grand Cherokee will fit the following with the door closed (one at a time):

Jungle King
Tempest
Asteroids
Asteroids Deluxe
Space Duel
Tron (on its side)
Pac-Man (on its side)
Q*bert
Space Harrier (upright cab, on its side)

No pictures, but these are the games that I have fit into the back of my Toyota Highlander (one at a time, of course):

  • Out Run
  • Galaga
  • Donkey Kong
  • Burgertime
  • Space Duel
  • Tempest
  • Rad Mobile
  • Robotron

You can get a Donkey Kong and a Ms Pacman laying down side by side in the bed of a F-250. Besides that, I've crammed a Jurassic Park Lost World pin in the back of an '86 4Runner with the tailgate up.

I fit my Monaco GP cabaret in the back seat of my 2003 Cadillac Seville SLS barely. Had to slam the door closed and compressed the inside door panel a little bit, no damage found when taken out thankfully. Wish I had pics but it was 12:00 midnight when I unloaded it.

It fits and allows the door to close; there's about 1/4" to spare, and I had to remove the back seat - just folding it down wasn't enough:

Nissan Murano

All of the following I had the tailgate shut:

Also a Simpsons cabinet, although I never thought to take a photo.

I moved my ms. pacman upright in the back of a Honda Pilot.

Probably could fit two cabinets of that size side by side if you had to (laying on their backs), as I had only folded down the seat behind the driver. I'd recommend some towels or blankets over the back of the cabinet though, just to make sure it doesn't hit the glass of the rear door.

Nintendo Cabs, Cabarets and Cruisin Exotica will fit in a 5 1/2 foot bed with tail gate closed.

California Speed will also blow out your back window if not secured well enough on the PA turnpike, :)
