Hopefully for many of us the day won't be coming anytime soon, but I couldn't help but wonder if, at the time of my death, any KLOVers would say "aw man, VG died.. I gotta make the viewing at least"

Do you think when your time comes to go to that big arcade in the sky, that someone will show up and pay respects, as you lie in your custom-made arcade cab coffin?

I'd like to think that at least one of the local guys would show up and tell some funny game moving/fixing/auction stories at my eulogy...

And to have a drink on me. I want a party when I kick the bucket.

I don't know about stopping by for the viewing, but I am making plans to put instructions for my wife or son to sell the machines here first in my will.

Actually, if my wife follows through with my wishes, there will be a lifesized cutout of me standing up in the funeral home holding a sign that says:

"I am not here right now. The party is at [fill in the name and address of the bar]. I'm buying, c'mon down."

i wanna be stuffed inside a game, cheaper than a coffin.. and then during the visitation people could get one last game in with me.

:D

All you guys will come to my funeral just to see if I left the warehouse unlocked

I'll be there Raymond. Hopefully not any time in the near future. If any KLOV'rs miss my funeral they will be sorry. I'm going out with a party. (Free Beer and booze) Games will be set on free play. Still getting the funds together to pay for it.

i would think quite a few won't be at the funeral, but at your house loading up your games while the entire family is at the showing!

The chances are very good that you won't be collecting arcade games by that point in your life.

I think collecting ends for most people around age 40-45, for a variety of reasons.

As for my plans, I will be cremated and my ashes will be combined with plastic to create a new line of "bat style" joysticks for Berzerk.

Thats so sad - that has happened to my wife's family...(NOT arcade games).

Depressing as this whole concept is, I would actually like the idea of my games being on free play at my cremation service... Hmmm...

Hey cadillacman, make sure the monitor in that machine is a non-working monitor. Or one with a lot of burn-in. Just so we're not missing one more usable monitor.

Just sayin'. ;)

dont post for 2 days im sure youll get some calls hoping everything is alright.

I guess that could be true. I'll make note to my wife if I die and the phone rings w/ the caller ID that says "FRITZ" for sure to answer it ;)

If they find out about it in time I hope at least one shows up (The one that was in my wedding). But I doubt my wife is going to go posting it here (At least not before the funeral). She doesn't like me spending so much time on here LOL. I also doubt she will think to send all of my phone contacts a message telling them. Nor will any of my family do either of the above.

Thought I was going to get in to a serious accident today becuase of some idiot driver.

I love how many people plan on having a lineup of games at their viewing/funeral- I can see it now. "Our beloved Hank has passed on- if you can be a pallbearer, or have a handtruck and can help move games into the funeral home, please call the Smith family at 555-1212.."

:D

Well, some people have to have an explanation of why I'm being hauled out in an arcade-shaped coffin! :D

Games at the wake/funeral...now that's an idea! Of course most funeral homes would never let you do this, and I don't think any arcade owner would agree to have a wake at his place of business!

I bet Dave & Busters would do it... Just book it as a private party with them supplying plenty of food, alcohol, and pre-paid game cards. :D
