I was fortunate enough to go last year and I know something went down to cause Peter to close up Luna City for awhile. Anyone heard from him and know if he's ever planning to do another game day?

He'll probably never post it here - the whole sharing of the Chasing Ghosts shenanigans pissed him off...
I can honestly say his CGI work was the only redeeming aspect of that film. It's no wonder they had so many problems getting it distributed - it kinda sucked.
Hmmm that's odd, I don't see a confirmation from an 'enjoyvelvet' on our checklist for the gathering on the 20th of Feb in Glen Burnie.... what are we, chopped liver?

Really?
I enjoyed the hell out of it. I guess maybe I led a bit of a sheltered life as a young lad, but I had no idea that Ottumwa existed and that Twin Galaxies was the official record keeper of arcade world records.
I just played the games and tried to achieve the highest scores possible, but it was all very "local".
I do remember picking up gaming magazines and seeing high scores listed in them for games I enjoyed, but the fact that kids came from all over the country to meet up, play games, compete, and be photographed for Time magazine was a shock and a surprise to me.
I really enjoyed the movie.

It's pretty sad if he lets the actions of 2-3 people run him off. Peter's work was amazing in the movie, and I would be happy to simply send him a few bucks directly - since I cannot actually purchase or rent the film. The final product shat all over the whole collective of them.
Still,
he put so much money, time, and effort into Luna City and its not fair to make the entire general public suffer
The dude asked folks not to the share the torrent link... in the very same post people continued to do just that instead of having the class to at least share the link privately.
As much as I want to say Peter knee-jerked... I have to agree with him... those people pulled bigtime asshole maneuvers. I wish Peter would give the forums another chance, but I certainly don't fault him for not doing so.
all of the record holders look as bad and pathetic as possible
Can someone explain this to me like I'm a 4-year old? I did not see the movie. This guy Peter helped provide footage for the movie, and then the producers of the movie made gamers like us look like idiots? Am I getting this right?
Or was Peter supposed to be getting paid for his time and didn't?
No comprende..
So it was okay to Tivo it (as Peter himself suggested) but not to share a copy via internet?Summary:
1. Peter assisted with making the film by contributing content
2. Movie was to be released on Showtime many missed it
3. Someone found a torrent link of the movie and shared it
4. Peter saw the posting and requested that it be taken down
5. No one listened and some individuals flaunted the fact
6. Goodbye Peter and no more gamedays
