I'm thinking of getting a new AC/DC while I have the chance. Wondering if this pin will ever exceed the NIB value? If not, I'lll look for a HUO.

I think the availability of the Premium tier has greatly reduced the possibility of what happened with Tron LE.

Stern knows what is hot and what isn't. And they are making more runs of AC/DC Premium.

So not likely to go up, though it may hold value well.

LTG : )

Unless your getting an LE I wouldn't expect it too. It does seem to be getting a lot of love, but Stern has been running these to meet demand so people that want them are getting them.

If your buying it for that reason though, your doing it wrong. :damnmate:

No, I really want the game. Actually meant more if it will keep it's value. Trying to convince the wife that I'll get the cash back if we need the money and have to sell.

There were ~10,000 TSPPs. They've now surpassed their NIB value
There were ~8,000 LOTRs. They've now surpassed their NIB value

AC/DC Premium is selling very well for Stern, but I still doubt it will reach the production numbers of those games...yet, like those, it will be considered one of Stern's must-have classics. So - once it's out of production, I predict that it will increase slightly in value.

You won't lose your shirt on it if you sell it in the near future, but with the Premiums being the same as the LEs and the Premium runs virtually unlimited, the price is not going to go way up anytime soon. If you do get one, spring for the LE. The Pro is not nearly as good of a game in this case.

I believe we need to understand the economics of the Pinball Industry. In the 70's, 80,s and 90's pinball machines were made predominantly for operator routes. Today the machines are targeted mostly for HUO with a small subset ending up on routes.

What made the older machines appreciate is that the route owners did not take care of them and a large number of them ended up in junk yards or parted out. What this created was for a collector to obtain one, they would have to buy an old operators machine and shop it back to its prime.

From an economics standpoint, for the new machines to appreciate, the collector base would have to grow creating a demand, knowing that the current Stern sales model relies on HUO buyers. Not sure the overall collector base for pinball machines is growing to create a supply versus demand scenario for new Stern Machines.

In my humble opinion, don't buy a Stern Machine as an investment, buy it because you like it and want to play it in your home.

Good luck finding an LE. They are long gone and if you find one, you will pay dearly. I just sold my BIBLE, and i took it and bought a premium to keep and a couple other pins.

Been seriously considering picking up a Premium since they had it at the TPF last year - anybody have an idea for what they're going for these days, and a recommended distributor? I'm tight on space, but really thinking it would be worth making room for one.

As for value - certainly something to consider when getting anything NIB, but I wouldn't be considering a NIB pin personally unless I really thought I'd be keeping it long-term, which means it's long term value isn't as relevant in the purchasing decision..

+1 on this...... trent is the man. very competitive prices and great service too. greg introduced me to trent and i have bought my last 4 pins from him (new and used). thanks greg for getting me hooked on the pin addiction! you bastard ;)

the acdc premium is a awesome pin for sure. im not even a huge ac/dc fan, but the game just pulls you in. cool cannon feature, the lower pf is alot of fun, the hells bells is a cool feature, the jukebox is a ton fo fun, and the light show is like no other. add a shaker motor and the new 1.63 update and you are ready to go. hope you can talk her into gettin the pin. im guessin she might even play it more than you do.
